                  WEIGHED IN THE BALANCES
                      - Heed Ancient Babylonian Talmud -
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
    “In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the king's palace: and the king saw the part that wrote. Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thought's troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.” (Daniel 5:5-7)
    In his arrogance and pride, King Belshazzar drank wine out of the holy vessels of God, publicly praising the gods of metal, wood and stone, thereby signing his death warrant.
   God uniquely delivered His judgment upon the pagan king, showing the inferiority of a human being dealing with the all wise God of the universe. Daniel the Prophet of God had to be called to read the supernatural writing of the Creator. That very night King Belshazzar was slain.
    It makes me wonder how weak, proud and ignorant prime ministers, premiers or presidents have the audacity through their human governments to simply by the stroke of a pen disqualify the superior intelligence of our Creator and by their obvious weird ruling have the authority to change the category of fellow human beings, from male to female or something in between.
    I would remind us all that with His omniscient mind and will Almighty God makes the rules and demands that we follow them or suffer the consequences. Belshazzar, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro and many others found out the hard way that they can be replaced and that He always remains. The same is true with the detrimental consequences of legalizing abortion, drugs, sexual deviance and gambling.
    The Bible says. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him, male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply...” (Gen.1: 1, 27);
History sometimes repeats itself.
   According to the Babylon Talmud (B.C. 1,000), the only time in the world's history that men were given in marriage to men and women were given in marriage to women was during the Days of Noah
    That was just before the Flood came and destroyed everyone, except Noah and his family!
     Should we then not be concerned and take our nation's business before the Lord in continuous and fervent prayer? The answer is, “Yes.”
    “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
    "And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments, hang all the law and the prophets. “ (Matt. 22: 37-40)
