Reports keep coming in from the Kampala Uganda Crusade. The Wide Open Doors to further Ministry though TV are beckoning, even as plans are underway to reach Canada through TV in 2012. Please pray for God's leading in these matters!!! - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Dearly Beloved Dr. Max,

Greetings in the most precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The attached message is from a journalist from Bukede Radio where you ministered on Sunday September 18th.

I would like to share with you that the Lord is still using your mission up until today. At the Demonstration Farm and Prayer Resort we have young boy of twelve called Jonathan, who followed us all the way from the City March.

He gave his life to the Lord during the Crusades and he was a street boy. His mother whom he has never seen abandoned him in a shrine where he was making fire for worship of demons.

The priest of Demons named him Jonathan Mukasa and Mukasa is a name of a powerful demon spirit of the lake. The priest got rid of him saying that he was eating a lot and that is how he ended up on the streets of Kampala.

He does not know his mother or father. He now lives with me at the farm and at twelve he has started school at Back to God Primary - Butalale, which you dedicated to the Lord.

He was enrolled in Primary one! Thank you so much for coming to Uganda because now I have a son!!!!

We are getting requests for your messages to be aired on our TV Station especially the one called Urban TV. They have called me and reduced the amount to $235 for airing a 45 minute message on Sundays and it will be repeated once during a week day!!

Last Tuesday we had an evaluation and thanksgiving meeting with those who served on the preparatory committee and I again asked them to send us their reports.

During the meeting we came to learn that, Your Missions broke two strong holds in Nsambya where we had the crusades and Conferences; It is the headquarter of Roman Catholicism and all the land belongs to them. It was very difficult in the past to hold such spirit filled meetings as we did!

Remember the unique outpouring of the Spirit on us during one of the Pastors' Conference!! In addition to that is a neighboring hill called KIBULI and it is the headquarters of the Muslims!! Reports here show that the devil was afraid of your anointed Scriptural messages.

Send our love to the brethren in Norway and Canada. I hope you will have a great time with Dr. Daniel Nkata.

Ever Yours,

Peterson

Greetings from Kampala, Uganda!
We thank God for his servant Dr. Max Solbrekken. I was blessed through the Crusade and the conference he carried out in Kampala. These meetings were so powerful though we were disrupted by the rain. The weather affected the attendance but never affected the move of God on the Crusade ground.
We were blessed.
I always remember when you shared the message of the Cross; Christ’s Victory, Satan’s Defeat & Our Liberty . These three short statements encourage me so much in my Christian walk.
Do you remember the Sunday morning when you ministered on our Radio station, (Bukedde Fm)?
You blessed so many lives till now we still get their Testimonies. Thank you so much for allowing God to use you in Uganda and the entire World. This land still needs you again and again for the cause of the Gospel.
Best Regards,
From

This is what happens when a nation turns away from the True & Living God. The Word of God teaches that when Israel turned from God He allowed the heathen nations to rule over them. Is God allowing this to happen to Europe?

Muslims in Spain Declare Jihad on Dogs

Spanish authorities are investigating the recent deaths by poisoning of more than a dozen dogs in Lérida, a city in the northeastern region of Catalonia that has become ground zero in an intensifying debate over the role of Islam in Spain.

All of the dogs were poisoned in September (local media reports here, here, here, here and here) in Lérida's working class neighbourhoods of Cappont and La Bordeta, districts that are heavily populated by Muslim immigrants and where many dogs have been killed in recent years.

Local residents say Muslim immigrants killed the dogs because according to Islamic teaching dogs are "unclean" animals.

Over the past several months, residents taking their dogs for walks have been harassed by Muslim immigrants opposed to seeing the animals in public. Muslims have also launched a number of anti-dog campaigns on Islamic websites and blogs based in Spain.

In response to the "lack of sufficient police to protect the neighbourhood," 50 local residents have established alternating six-person citizen patrols to escort people walking their dogs.

In July, two Islamic groups based in Lérida asked city officials to regulate the presence of dogs in public spaces so they do not "offend Muslims." Muslims are demanding that dogs be banned from all forms of public transportation including all city buses as well as from all areas frequented by Muslim immigrants.

Muslims in Lérida say the presence of dogs violates their religious freedom and their right to live according to Islamic principles.

Dogs are not the only Islam-related controversy in Lérida, where 29,000 Muslims now make up around 20 percent of the city's total population.

In December 2010, Lérida became the first municipality in Spain to ban the burqa head covering in all public spaces. Women found violating the ban will be fined up to €600 ($750). One day before the ban took effect, the Catalonian Supreme Court turned down an appeal from the Watani Association for Freedom and Justice, a local Muslim group, which had argued that the ban constitutes religious discrimination.

In September 2010, Watani president Mourad El-Boudouhi submitted a letter to the Lérida city council in which he asked the mayor to provide him with free land so that he can build a mosque in downtown Lérida. The mosque would be financed by Morocco.

The Moroccan mosque would compete with another mosque project in Lérida that is being financed by Saudi Arabia. The imam at the Saudi mosque is Abdelwahab Houzi, a Salafi jihadist preacher who adheres to the radical Wahhabi sect of Islam.

Salafism is a branch of revivalist Islam that calls for restoring past Muslim glory by forcibly establishing a universal Islamic empire (Caliphate) across the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe such as Spain, which Salafists view as a Muslim state that must be re-conquered for Islam.

Much of Spain was ruled by Muslim conquerors from 711 and 1492; Salafists believe that the territories the Muslims lost during the Spanish Reconquista still belong to them, and that they have a right to return and establish their rule there – a belief based on the Islamic precept that territories once occupied by Muslims must forever remain under Muslim domination.

The Salafist Houzi has called on Muslims who are eligible to vote in Spain to support Catalan separatist parties as a means to firmly establish Islamism in Catalonia.

"Muslims should vote for pro-independence parties, as they need our votes. But what they do not know is that, when they allow us to vote, we will all vote for Islamic parties because we do not believe in left and right. This will make us win local councils and as we begin to accumulate power in the Catalan autonomous region, Islam will begin to be implemented," Houzi said.

The Catalan independence movement supports the independence of Catalonia from Spain. Catalan separatism is based on the idea that Catalonia is a nation with its own unique history, culture and language.

In an effort to promote the Catalan language, Catalonian pro-independence parties have traditionally favored immigration from non-Spanish-speaking countries, especially from Arabic-speaking Muslim countries, in the belief that these people would speak Catalan rather than Spanish.

The end result of this decades-old policy is that Catalonia is now home to a huge concentration of hard-line Islamist groups including Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami and the Salafists.

Salafi preachers in Catalonia do not believe in democracy and teach that Islamic Sharia law is above Spanish civil law. They also promote the establishment of a parallel Muslim society in Spain.

Salafi imams have set up Sharia tribunals in Catalonia to judge the conduct of both practicing and non-practicing Muslims in Spain. They also deploy Islamic "religious police" in Lérida and other Catalan municipalities to monitor and punish Muslims who do not comply.

In one case, nine Salafists kidnapped a woman in Reus, tried her for adultery based on Sharia law, and condemned her to death. The woman just barely escaped execution by fleeing to a local police station.

In another case, a Salafi imam in Tarragona was arrested for forcing a 31-year-old Moroccan woman to wear a hijab head covering. The imam had threatened to burn down the woman's house for being an "infidel" because she works outside the home, drives an automobile and has non-Muslim friends. In an effort to prevent "a social conflict," in August a local court absolved the imam of all wrongdoing.

The Salafi movement in Spain is based in the Catalonian city of Tarragona, but Salafi Islam also has a major presence in the Catalan municipalities of Badalona, Calafell, Cunit, El Vendrel, Girona, Lleida, Mataró, Reus, Roda de Bara, Rubí, Salt, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Boi, Torredembarra, Valls, and Vilanova, not to mention Barcelona, which hosts five Salafi mosques.

Meanwhile, the Catalan regional government says that during the first six months of 2011, it prevented 14 forced marriages and the genital mutilation of 24 Muslim girls.

Catalan police say they prevented forced marriages in metropolitan Barcelona (6), Girona (4), central Catalonia (2), the western Pyrenees (1) and Tarragona (1). The girls at risk from genital mutilation were in metropolitan Barcelona (19), Girona (4) and Lérida (1).

Not surprisingly, some Catalans are having second thoughts about Muslim immigration. The Catalan nationalist party Plataforma per Catalunya (PxC), which has some 70,000 active members, is opposed to any further Muslim immigration.

PxC is also leading opposition to the construction of a Salafi mega-mosque in the Catalan town of Salt. PxC spokeswoman María Osuna says the party does not want Salt to become "the new Mecca of the most radical Islamism."

For its part, the Catalan regional government has discovered that Muslim immigrants are not all that interested in learning the Catalan language. In an effort to promote Catalan, the Catalonian Bureau of Religious Affairs recently published a guidebook in Arabic and Catalan called "Salam al Català."

The guide aims to bring the Catalan culture to Muslims to "show the bonds that historically have existed between both realities, and bring the [Catalonian] language to the Arabic-speaking Muslim population."

The cowardly satanic Islamic Leader whimpered like a dog when he faced death, suddenly realizing he would soon stand before Jesus Christ the Judge of the whole world (past, present and future) and none of his man-made beliefs would save him. He would be judged as a murderer and blasphemer of the eternal God our Lord. He had a right to be fearful but it was too late. He would be doomed forever! How tragic to have been so brain-washed and deceived, believing that killing Jews and Christians was right!

COURAGE IN THE FACE OF IMMINENT DANGER
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D

It has been said that a coward dies many times before his death but the valiant tastes of death but once! Recently, the hate-filled, demon-controlled Islamic terrorist who was responsible for the deaths of 3,000 people on September 11, 2001 was executed by US Navy seals in his hide-out in Pakistan.

The man who had bravely called for thousands of jihadists (Muslim extremists) to become suicide bombers for Allah, died like the coward he was. When the Navy seals entered his bedroom, he shouted, “I am not him” and shoved one of his wives in front of himself to take his bullet. The brave Islamic murderer hid behind his wife’s skirt. Here you can see the difference between a civilized man who would seek to protect his wife and an animal like Osama bin Laden.

The book, ‘Redeemed in Peace’ (Pada BeShalom in Hebrew) tells the account of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (Rayatz), the sixth Lubavitcher rebbe. The Rayatz lived in Russia during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and fought to keep Judaism alive in the Soviet Union. Some of the Jews in Russia were communists and they created the Yessektsiya, a special “Jewish Affairs Section” run by Jews who instigated purges to stamp out God from their hearts. Rebbe Scheersohn was invited for interrogation by the Council of Critics of Religion.

They claimed that they engaged in criticism of the religion of Israel, and as such had already called in a few rabbis and listened to their answers. Now, they wanted to hear the opinion of Rabbi Schneersohn on issues related to Kabbalah and Hasidism. Their questions were expressed in Russian, but the Rebbe insisted on answering in Yiddish.

NO MAN OR DEMON WILL CAUSE ME TO CHANGE MY PRINCIPLES, EVEN BY A LITTLE BIT.!!!

The Rebbe explained that ‘no man or demon has been born or will be born that will cause me to change my principles, even by a little bit.’ One of the interrogators pointed a gun toward the Rebbe and said: ‘This toy removes the principles, fear of it opens the mouth, and the speaker becomes mute.’

The Rebbe replied coolly: ‘You are quite wrong. This toy only impresses infidels and cowards. They have only one world and many gods. But we have just one G-d and we believe in two worlds. So this toy that you showed me not only is not scary, but makes no impression on me.’

SAUL OF TARSUS was converted on the Damascus Road after Jesus Christ appeared to him after His resurrection from the dead. He said: ‘But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I MIGHT FINISH MY COURSE WITH JOY…’(Acts 20: 23-24);

‘…For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die in Jerusalem for the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.’ (Acts 21: 10-11)

What a difference between the Jewish Rabbi Schneersohn and the great Christian apostle St. Paul and the schnivelling killer of innocent men, women and children Osama bin Laden!

Due to the heavy security in Kampala since the terrorist attack that killed 82 people on July 11, 2009 at the World Cup, we were unable to hold the Unity Crusade down town as we had planned. Our crusade was the first large event given the permission for an open air meeting in two years. We had to change our plans and with more than 100 policemen who watched the Soccer Field 24 hours a day we proceeded. Then the rains came and hampered our crusade but many people came to the altars and gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. Many hundreds of young people were converted. I did not know then that we were in the very centre of the Roman Catholic area and next door to the Muslim Headquarters and that we were seeing an historic breakthrough in that area. Since our Crusade there, a TV Station is asking us to preach weekly over there station and when the rains came a number of radio stations, TV and other media give us an enormous amount of coverage and preaching time over their networks. Now, we know why we were unable to get the downtown facility to reach an area that had not previously been reached - Pastor Max Solbrekken

THE UNITY CRUSADE WAS AN UNPRECEDENTED BREAK THROUGH!

I am so grateful to Dr. Max Solbrekken and so highly to the Lord
Almighty for the decision to choose Uganda and more so Nsambya the suburb of Kampala city for the mighty crusade.

This area has been a strangle hold for so long since it neighbours
KIBULI is the headquarter of Islam in Uganda. NSAMBYA is also a seat for the Catholic Church; they have schools, hospitals and churches just a few meters away from the crusade ground.

For years EFFORTS TO EVANGELIZE IN THIS AREA have been fruitless, and I believe the showers of rain were showers of blessings and the crusade was an UNPRECEDENTED BREAK THROUGH!

GALLOP: 'RECENT SURGE' of YOUNG ADULTS WANT GOV'T TO
‘PROMOTE TRADITIONAL VALUES' October 6, 2011)

(CNSNews.com) - While a Lexis-Nexis search indicates that U.S. newspapers and wire services included in that database published 291 stories yesterday and today citing the vaguely defined, left-wing Occupy Wall Street movement, not one of them mentioned a Gallup poll quietly released yesterday that documented a trend Gallup itself cannot explain: a “recent surge” in the percentage of young adults who say government should “promote traditional values.”

In fact, American between the ages of 18 and 34 are now more likely than Americans in older age brackets to say government should promote traditional values. This reverses the historical pattern in Gallup’s polling on this question.

In the most recent survey, conducted Sept. 8-11, Gallup asked 1,017 Americans age 18 and older this question: “Some people think the government should promote traditional values in our society. Others think the government should not favor any particular set of values. Which comes closer to your own view?”

The overall results showed that Americans are less likely now than in the past to believe the government should promote traditional values, with 48 percent saying they think the government should and 46 percent saying they think the government should not favor any particular set of values.

The percentage saying they thought the government should promote traditional values peaked twice at 59 percent, first in January 1996 and then again in October 2001.

But over the last three years—since President Barack Obama was elected—the trend has gone the other way among young adults.

In a survey conducted Sept. 8-11, 2008, two months before Obama’s election, only 38 percent of young adults said they thought government should promote traditional values.

In a survey conducted Aug. 31-Sept. 2009, 41 percent said so; in 2010, 47 percent; and, this year, 53 percent.

“The reason for these shifts in views by age is unclear,” said Gallup in its own analysis of the survey. “They neither track with changes in respondents' overall political ideology-- the percentages of each group labeling themselves ‘conservative’ have held fairly steady over the same period--nor do they parallel approval of the president.”

Among the youngest age bracket published in Gallup’s weekly approval ratings of the president—those 18 to 29 years of age—Obama’s approval has dropped 28 points, from 75 percent the week he was inaugurated in January 2009 to 47 percent last week.

When respondents in Gallup’s traditional-values survey are divided by political affiliation, Republicans---at 59 percent—are more likely than Indepenents—at 47 percent—and Democrats—at 41 percent—to say government should promote traditional values. But the trend is downward among Republicans, having peaked in 2004, when 79 percent said government should promote traditional values.

Because of the "recent surge” in the percentage of young adults who think government should promote traditional values, Gallup suggests that the overall downward trend in this view may be only temporary.

“The trends by age raise questions about how permanent the shift in the overall trend is, with younger adults showing a recent surge in preference for advancing traditional values,” said Gallup’s analysis. “Normally the views of young people are on the leading edge of social change.”

The Unholy Trinity of the `World Council of Churches, the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue & the World Evangelical Alliance` are in violation of the Word of God and in danger of bringing upon themselves the wrath of the Almighty for disobeying the clear-cut mandate given to the True Church by Jesus Christ Himself in the Great Commission: "Go ye into all the world and preach the GOSPEL to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that beleiveth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name (Jesus Christ) shall they cast out devils...`` (Mark 16: 15-20); ``Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..(Matt.28: 18-20). I agree wholeheartedly with Jesus Christ our Lord and His followers St. Paul and the Early Church who ``turned the world upside down` (Acts 17:6) and ``filled Jerusalem`` with the doctrine of Jesus Christ`` (Acts 5:28). They were beaten, imprisoned and martyred for the name of Jesus Christ. My advice to missionaries, evangelists and pastors: Do not listen to the turn-coats, but listen to St. Peter who stated: We ought to obey God rather than man.'' (Acts 5: 29) - Pastor Max Solbrekken

World Council of Churches Blames Christians For Their Own Persecution Due To Open Faith
http://www.hudson-ny.org
________________________________________
The U.S. State Department's annual report on international religious freedom describes hundreds of incidents of religious bigotry and violence, especially in the Arab-Muslim world, Asia, and nations of the former Soviet bloc.

Which is why it was no surprise when, at a press conference on September 13, 2011, Assistant Secretary Michael Posner and Ambassador-at-Large Suzan Johnson Cook identified Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Uzbekistan as the most recent "countries of particular concern"— places where sectarian assaults and systematic discrimination on the basis of faith have been widely reported.

Yet the runners-up—the ones deemed not to deserve "particular concern"—include such nations as Egypt (where scenes of mobs torching Christian churches belie the ostensible Muslim-Christian comity of Tahrir Square), Pakistan (where Sufi, Shia, Ahmadiyah, and Christian worshippers are being persecuted in alarming numbers), and Kazakhstan (where strongman Nursultan Nazarbayev is about to sign into law a bill limiting the activities of religious missionaries).

You know who is to blame for all this persecution, of course: The Christians are. Or so, at least, the mainline Christian organizations seem anxious to assure us.

The victimized Christians in these countries have "asked for it:" by the very act of being open believers and missionaries, they are intensifying the global threat to freedom of religion.

So the World Council of Churches, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue of the Holy See, and the World Evangelical Alliance have joined together to do something about it—by urging their fellow Christians to behave less provocatively.

The group's report, titled "Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World: Recommendations for Conduct," calls on Christians to reject "the violation or destruction of places of worship, sacred symbols, or texts." And, as the report makes clear, there is a whole lot of violation and destruction being done.

What the report does not make so clear is that most of it is being done to Christians. The three organizations, which claim to represent over 90 percent of the world's Christians, met in Italy, France, and Thailand to come up with these guidelines, based on the worthy principle of respect for all faiths.

Surely it is at least a little significant, however, that no non-Christian organization joined them in calling for an end to religious provocations. The poor Christians could not get even one Muslim organizations to join them in decrying religious violence, even when these Christians agreed that, yes, they were guilty of provoking the violence.

To his credit, the Vatican's Secretary for Relations with States has been less muddled on this point. Archbishop Dominique Mamberti recently told representatives of the former Soviet bloc nations that their governments are responsible for the climate in which attacks on religious minorities take place.

To combat intolerance and discrimination, he said, "it is essential to promote and consolidate religious liberty," which "cannot be restricted to the simple freedom of worship" but includes "the right to preach, educate, convert, contribute to the political discourse and participate fully in public activities."

Echoing the words of Benedict XVI, Mamberti decried "a radical secularism" in the countries of Europe that "relegates, a priori, all kinds of religious manifestations to the private sphere." The Europeans have embraced relativism and believe this makes them tolerant.

But their "postmodern idea that religion is a marginal component of public life" has the effect of denigrating both faith and the faithful, which perversely emboldens the violent to act: Intolerance encouraged by pseudo-tolerance.

As a general critique of the world situation, this seems exactly right: The premodern bigots are nakedly brutalizing minority religions, while the postmodern powers are providing the fig leaf.

Even as Archbishop Mamberti was speaking, the Vatican was signing on to the self-blaming "Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World" report. As Benedict XVI was telling the German parliament to reject the European elites' view of religion, the representatives of world Christianity were trying to ingratiate themselves with these elites.

Franklin Graham Denounces Death Sentence for Iranian Christian Pastor
Monday, 03 Oct 2011 08:08 AM
By Mike Tighe

The Rev. Franklin Graham denounced the looming execution of an Iranian pastor sentenced to hang because he won’t renounce his Christian faith and embrace Islam.

The Rev. Franklin Graham: "A man is sentenced to be killed for the ‘crime’ of a sincere belief in Jesus Christ — a sentence in clear violation of international law. So where is the international outrage?" International officials will be complicit in the death of Pastor Yosef Nadarkhani if they don’t join House Speaker John Boehner, the White House, and others in demanding a reversal of the sentence, said Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.

Pastor Yosef Nadarkhani refused to recant his Christian faith in an Iranian court for the third and final time Wednesday.

"I am resolute in my faith and Christianity and have no wish to recant," he insisted, knowing full well that doing so could result in his death.

Pastor Yosef Nadarkhani refuses to renounce his faith. Nadarkhani's lawyer, Mohammed Ali Dadkhah, said at the time that the panel of five judges will decide within a week whether to confirm the 34-year-old pastor's execution for apostasy. In this case, the apostasy is interpreted as abandoning Islam.

In addition, the original indictment against Nadarkhani, a father and evangelical pastor who became a Christian at age 19, accused him of organizing evangelistic meetings, sharing his faith, trying to convert Muslims to Christianity, running a house church, and rejecting Islamic values.

But Iranian officials now appear to be trumping up the charges after the fact, because they just amended the indictment to include allegations of rape, extortion, and national security, as well as accusing Nadarkhani of Zionism.

Critics of Iran’s judicial system consider the additional charges to be a cynical maneuver intended to stifle international condemnation of Iran’s prosecution of Nardarkhani for his faith, as this is the first time such allegations have surfaced since he was arrested in 2009 and tried last year.

“His crime is not, as some claim, converting others to Christianity. He is guilty of security-related crimes,” Gholomali Rezvani, the deputy governor of Gilan province, said, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

Nadarkhani “is a Zionist and has committed security-related crimes,” Rezvani said in a separate statement, CNN reported.

Regardless of those desparate Iranian court machinations, Graham, the son of world-renowned evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham, declared: “It is unfathomable to most thinking people that a person in the 21st century can be put to death simply for espousing a faith that differs from that of his nation's ruling powers. Belief cannot be prescribed or proscribed. Faith is the most basic, fundamental right of every human being.

“While this kind of religious intolerance from the Islamic government and so-called justice system in Iran [Sharia law] doesn't surprise me, the initial virtual silence of the international community does,” said Graham, who warned in a Newsmax interview in March that radical Islam endangers Christians worldwide. “A man is sentenced to be killed for the ‘crime’ of a sincere belief in Jesus Christ — a sentence in clear violation of international law. So where is the international outrage?”

“The international community is complicit in Iran's outrage if our leaders remain silent,” said Graham, who acknowledged that “Boehner was one of the first leaders here in the U.S. to speak out against the atrocity of the Iranian court's sentence” and the White House did, as well.”

As Newsmax reported last week, Boehner voiced outrage at the sentence and said, "I urge Iran's leaders to abandon this dark path, spare Yosef Nadarkhani's life, and grant him a full and unconditional release.

"Religious freedom is a universal human right," the Ohio Republican said, adding that the potential execution is “distressing for people of every country and creed."

"While Iran's government claims to promote tolerance, it continues to imprison many of its people because of their faith. This goes beyond the law to an issue of fundamental respect for human dignity," Boehner said.

Similarly, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams "deep concern" at the sentence and the general persecution of religious minorities in Iran.

The Obama administration, which had deplored the death sentence when it first came to light in June, also condemned last week’s action and called for the pastor’s release. “A decision to impose the death penalty would further demonstrate the Iranian authorities’ utter disregard for religious freedom, and highlight Iran’s continuing violation of the universal rights of its citizens,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

Also expressing outrage was British Foreign Secretary William Hague, who said, “This demonstrates the Iranian regime’s continued unwillingness to abide by its constitutional and international obligations to respect religious freedom. I pay tribute to the courage shown by Pastor Nadarkhani who has no case to answer and call on the Iranian authorities to overturn his sentence.”

As the Iranian judges continue to weigh the pastor’s fate this week, Graham called for worldwide pressure to release the pastor.

“U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and others on the world stage should take immediate action to condemn the sentence imposed on Pastor Nadarkhani,” he said. “We, as U.S. citizens, must join our voices to continue to press world leaders to take action. Pastor Nadarkhani's life hangs in the balance.

“Matthew's Gospel tells us, ‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’ Pastor Nadarkhani will certainly be blessed for his unwavering faith when he stands before God. But I hope that Christians across America will join me in praying for his rescue in this life as well,” Graham said.
