Pray that the Lord will use this book to open the eyes of Israelis to understand Who Jesus Christ really is! - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Iconic Israeli Poet Invokes Jesus in New Book    Israel Today News June 19th. - Selected

It is difficult to be certain why Haim Gouri uses New Testament motifs in his latest book of poems, entitled Eyval, named after Mount Ebal (Deut. 11:29).

Gouri is an iconic figure in Israeli culture the personification of the ideal Israeli. Born in Tel Aviv in 1923, he joined the Palmach militia and was sent to Hungary in 1947 to assist survivors of the Holocaust making their way to Palestine.

During the 1948 Israeli War of Independence he served as a deputy company commander in the Palmach’s Negev Brigade.   Although perhaps best known as a poet, Gouri is also a novelist, filmmaker, and journalist.

Eyval is a rebuttal of the prevalent tendency amongst so many Israelis to indulge in condemnation of their mother country. “Since…every leper opens up his mouth to frighten her,” Gouri “writes her glory and splendor, counts like a peddler her glories, [and] grinds Balm of Gilead, healing and remedy for her sorrows and illness” (Poem 59).

And in Poem 86, he quotes Jesus Himself: “Who amongst you has not sinned, let him be the first to throw stones at her.”

In Eyval, Gouri dialogues with the Messiah who endlessly tarries. In Poem 23, he seems to identify the Messiah as Jesus and commands Him as a military commandermuch like God commanded Abraham before Him: “Move, move over. Get out by night to your land, to your family, through the stone, through the tiredness, through the silence and the shadow of death. Move, move as in a dream of the night.

Remember that you have already been here, with the [crown of] thorns that have already became a familiar literary symbol that never lose their greatness.”

While one can understand this poem in various ways, the reader must face Gouri’s need to command Jesus to return immediately to His land and family.

In a speech at the University of Oslo Norway, directly after the end of WW11, Sir Winston Churchill stated emphatically: "Never Give Up; Never Give Up. Never Give Up. Never." !!!!

DON’T QUIT - JUST TRY AGAIN!
by Pastor Max Solbrekken
This life doesn’t offer many free lunches or instant successes. Our sojourn on Planet Earth is mostly a series of trials, errors and hard work. Life is hard on this earth and living this life comes with many obstacles.

Often success only comes on the heels of disappointment and failure. We live in a real world, with very few born into instant money, privilege and position.

For most of us, life is a day-to-day ‘bump and grind’ existence, with only a minuscule chance of winning a Lotto 649 and living the fantasy life projected on TV commercials.

But hard work has never hurt anyone and a little strain, stress and sweat is really quite healthy.

The old adage, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again”, is good advice indeed.

Abraham Lincoln ran for public office several times and was defeated. He did not give up and finally was elected President of the USA and became renowned as one of America’s greatest leaders.

Theologian Dr. Kenneth Taylor sought in vain for a publisher to print his new paraphrase of the Holy Bible. He organized Tyndale House Publishers and has sold more than 35 million copies of the Living Bible.

Science fiction writer Frank Herbert who authored the galactic epic Dune was turned down by 20 publishers before his manuscript was finally accepted. His book has sold more than 12 million copies.

If we turn our mistakes and failures into stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks, the experiences we go through are reversed from negative to positive. We can learn from our mistakes and failures and not make those mistakes again.

But if we take the low road of complaining, sulking and blaming people, it becomes a long-term aggravation that eats like a cancer.

The Bible says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Here’s a poem that reinforces that truth.

ALL IN THE STATE OF MIND
If you think you’re beaten, you are;
If you think you dare, you don’t.
If you’d like to win, but you think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,
For out in the world you find,
Success begins with a fellow’s thoughts,
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.

St. Paul stated emphatically: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."(Phil. 4:13) KJV

And Jesus said: “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”. (Mark 9:23) “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27) KJV

We must come to God, in simple faith, believing that Christ’s victory over Satan, death and Hell has purchased our freedom.

The Bible says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”. (Heb. 2:14)

Jesus said: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matt. 7:7-8) KJV

Here are four things that most people are concerned about!

PEACE OF MIND: This comes through the knowledge of salvation, with the forgiveness of sins and the removing of guilt. Jesus said: “My peace I give unto you”. (John 14:27; Rom. 5:1; 8:1)

PROTECTION OF ONE’S HOME & FAMILY: The Bible says: “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling”. (Ps. 91:10) The angels of God protect His people. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Ps. 34:19)

SECURITY FOR ONE’S JOB - The Bible tells us not to be concerned about tomorrow for He shall bless us with abundance. If we put Him first, He has promised to prosper and bless the work of our hands. (Matt. 6:33; Luke 6:38)

CONTINUED GOOD HEALTH - When Jesus died on the cross, He purchased our healing, for the Bible states: “He was wounded for our transgressions ...and with His stripes we are healed”. (Isa. 53:4-5)

“When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” (Matt. 8:16-27)

The key is in not giving up. We must ask in prayer for our need, seek His Word for an answer and keep knocking till we receive. That’s real faith!

Martin Luther said, "I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God. Amen." Schuller, Warren & Crouch are 'lightweight, men-pleasing-preachers' while Van Impe is a 'rock-solid' theologian with a conscience like St. Paul & Martin Luther - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Van Impe ministry abandons TBN in clash over Islam

A Christian ministry's decision to expose as "false teachers" several celebrity ministers it believes are corrupting biblical teachings has prompted a rift, with Jack Van Impe Ministries dropping plans to work in the future with Trinity Broadcasting Network, where it has broadcast for more than two decades.

"I Will Not Be Silenced! I will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach," Van Impe said in a statement when TBN would not allow his program to air.

"When I see heretical teaching leading to apostasy, I will speak out," he said. "The Bible says 'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:' (II Timothy 3:16). The Apostle Paul also gives instructions in Titus 1:9-11, 13 'Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers … Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake…Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.'"

Van Impe said he immediately called his media agents and told them, "I no longer wanted to air my program on Trinity Broadcasting Network; we will take the tremendous amount of money that we were spending there to obtain new stations that will allow us to continue to reach every square mile of America with the truths of the Bible without this network."

The dispute arose over the issue of advocating for "Chrislam" and other efforts that are designed to find "common ground" between Christians and Muslims. TBN declined to air one of Van Impe's programs that contained sharp criticisms of leaders such as Rick Warren of "The Purpose Driven Life" fame and Robert Schuller.

In a statement from Van Impe Ministries today, Executive Director Ken Vancil said his organization rejected an effort by TBN to reinstate the programming and would work to develop alternative broadcast outlets where they were needed.

"We would not be able to minister effectively if we had to look over our shoulder wondering if a program was going to be censored because of mentioning a name," Vancil said. "While there is hurt over this incident, we hold no animosity towards TBN. Dr. Van Impe has often expressed his appreciate to Paul and Jan (Crouch, of TBN) and all that they have accomplished."

But he confirmed that Paul Crouch Sr. "cautioned" him as recently as Monday "regarding Dr. Van Impe's naming of names and publicly rebuking ministers and their teachings."

The dispute erupted just last week, when Van Impe's ministry planned to air sharp criticism of Christians who say they want to "reach out" by incorporating beliefs or practices of Islam into their Christian organizations.

The program specifically mentioned Warren and Schuller, prompting TBN to prevent the broadcast.

"We received a call from Matt Crouch of TBN informing us that they would not run that program. … The reason he gave was that we specifically mentioned Rick Warren and Robert Schuller and that it is TBN's policy that broadcasters are not allowed to rebuke other ministries," Van Impe said.

"This is a rather hypocritical statement in light of the fact that they have never said anything in the past when we have rebuked others such as Bishop Spong, Bishop Pike, and in the past few months Harold Camping and Rob Bell," he continued. "They also stated that they would not run any future program where we offered our DVD Reclaiming & Restoring Biblical Christianity as a premium for a donation to our ministry. A DVD that exposes false teachers and the heresies that they proclaim."

TBN did not respond to WND's request for comment on the dispute.

Vancil said after TBN's decision not to air the program that there was no future between the two groups.

"This was not an easy decision; we have had a relationship with TBN for 23 years. … But at this point we feel it is time to part ways," he said. "We have been able to over the years develop an independent network of broadcast stations all across America as well as broadcasting on TBN and Daystar. Our media agents have worked diligently and determined that we need to add 14 stations to be able to continue fully covering every mile of America.

"Praise God I am pleased to announce that negotiations have progressed in these 14 markets and that contracts will be presented to the Van Impes for approval in a matter of days," he said.

In the program that was cut, which remains available on the Jack Van Impe Ministries website, the ministry launches its campaign regarding "apostate ministers."
Van Impe explains that the Bible prophesies a one-world government and a one-world religion during the end times, and his concern focuses on the move among some Christian organizations to adopt some Islamic thought and incorporate elements of Islam into their worship.

"We've got too many of these mush-mouth preachers. All they're doing is two stories and a movie review," he said. But the Bible actually outlines that its messages also are to "reprove and rebuke" Christians for failing to live for God.

According to the broadcast, "Chrislam is a term that may be used more often among apostate churches."
Such Islamic and evangelical Christian leaders, the report explained, are working to find a way to promote "common beliefs the two religions supposedly share."

Specifically cited were Warren and Schuller.

During a subsequent broadcast, also available on the ministry's website, the advance of "Chrislam" thoughts and practices into Christian churches was described as a "tsunami of compromise."

"This compromise is going to permeate Christianity,"
Van Impe said. "I'm calling for the old-time religion to be restored.

"God called me to preach. And I will not stand down for any man, for any church, for any Christian organization,"
he said.

The report noted that there are some Christian missionaries overseas who have "eliminated 91 verses in God's Holy Word because they wanted to please Islam and the Muslims."

Those references identify Jesus as the Son of God.
Other developments include moves by some Christian churches to remove clear Christian emblems such as crosses.

He said what churches need today is that "old time religion" and less "self-esteem psycho-babble."
Criticized on the program were recommendations attributed to Warren that churches change music to a contemporary rock style, eliminate hymnbooks and the choir, eliminate the Sunday evening or Wednesday prayer services, remove the word "church" and refer to it as a "campus," and reduce the use of the words "unsaved," "lost," "hell" and "heaven."
Other ministries have voiced criticism similar to Van Impe's.

Joe Schimmel, senior pastor of Blessed Hope Chapel in Southern California and chief of the Good Fight Ministries, openly has questioned whether church leaders are affirming Allah.

Schimmel, who is best known for "They Sold Their Souls for Rock n Roll," which exposes satanic influences behind much of yesterday and today's popular music and how it negatively influences youth, suggested in a WND column, "Could it be that we are witnessing the formation of the prophesied one-world religion under the Antichrist? (Revelation 13:1-18) "

He cited Brian McLaren of the emerging church movement, who planned for an Islamic Ramadan celebration. And he mentioned Warren's agreement to address the Islamic Society of North America, which "the Department of Justice categorized two years ago as a co-conspirator in financing a foreign terrorist group!"
Another church leader, Tony Campolo, "a proponent of the so-called 'evangelical left' claimed that 'even if' Muslims 'don't convert, they are God's people,'" Schimmel wrote.

"Even more chilling is the fact that over 300 prominent Christian leaders signed a letter issued by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture claiming that world peace is dependent on Muslims and Christians recognizing 'Allah' and 'Yahweh' as the same God. This letter, titled 'Loving God and Neighbor Together,' was written in response to a signed document by 138 Muslim leaders titled 'A Common Word Between Us and You.' McLaren, Warren, Robert Schuller and Bill Hybels were just several of the signatories to this outright betrayal of Christ!" he said.

TBN previously had a conflict over its intolerance for criticism of Islam. It was in 2006 when Hal Lindsey, WND columnist and one of the world's most popular non-fiction authors, clashed with the network because TBN wanted him to soften his views on Muslims. Lindsey refused.

Please join with us in PRAYER for a National Revival across our wonderful Nation - Pastor Max Solbrekken

PLEASE NOTE: SPECIAL MEETINGS!

Evangelist Mohan Maharaj, originally from Trinidad, W.I. has been
greatly used of the Lord around the world will be preaching at Christ the Healer Gospel Church 136 Ave F S Saskatoon on June 25 & 26.

In the 1970s Mohan Maharaj preached across Uganda and by the grace of God he ESCAPED from IDI AMIN'S DEATH SQUADS!

Earnest Mountain, with his wife Mary, is one of the speakers at the dedication of the HOUSE OF PRAYER New Sarepta, Alberta on JULY 1- 4. They celebrated the 40th anniversary of their conversion to Jesus Christ on December 8, 2010.

Forty years ago Earnest and Mary were on the verge of dissolving their common-law relationship, which included four little children. Earnest was a hard worker and owned a new automobile but was unable to drive, because his impaired driving conviction had robbed him of his driver’s license. Their drinking and arguing was destroying them.

Earnest had seen the big cross with the words JESUS SAVES on the Edmonton Revival Centre on 149th Streetan Stony Plain Roadand was drawn toward it. At ten o’clock Wednesday morning, December 8, 1970, he told Mary that he was going to walk the ten blocks to see the preacher. Immediately, she got her coat and went with him.

They were gloriously converted that morning and have walked with Jesus ever since. God has prospered them in business and all their children are well educated and are serving the Lord!

Allan and Mary Thew – Mary Mountain’s aunt and uncle - were also gloriously converted. Allan had been a bartender for 40 years and their conversion made a real ripple effect with many others receiving Christ as Lord and Saviour! What a wedding we had with four little children as witnesses and a host of friends attending!

RENE & HENE WOUDSTRA will also be testifying about the great miracle Jesus Christ gave him in 1970 at the Edmonton Revival Centre. For 5 years Rene had been seeing a psychiatrist once a week for his nerves. He was born in Holland and the war had affected him greatly. As he grew, his fears became unbearable.

After 5 years of psychiatric help, he was not getting better. For three months he had sat in the front room staring out the front window, as if in a stupor. An old neighbor from his Dutch Church excitedly told them about being healed from deafness at the Edmonton Revival centre (later Faith Cathedral) and that RENE should attend.

Upon hearing these words Rene came alive and said that he wanted to go. He was instantly healed and has been well ever since. Rene worked as a horticulturist at the University of Alberta for many years until retirement. Rene and Hene have been featured in the Edmonton Journal a number of times as having the most beautiful lawn and garden in Edmonton. Glory to God forever!

JOHN OKEMOW was born a stutterer, but Jesus healed him through the Ministry of a Mennonite Preacher when he was 8 years of age. His goal was to become a pilot, a policeman and a preacher. He has done all that. Due to some circumstances he fell into sin and for about 12 years was away from God.

In our crusade service in Peerless Lake, Alberta John Okemow – the policeman - surrendered to God and several years later entered the Ministry. Today, he is a powerful man of God who preaches to the Native Indians and Inuit in Northern Canada with great success!

He will also preach during the TIME OF REJOICING Dedication & Revival at
New Sarepta, AB on July 1 – 4.

Thank you so much, dear friends,  for your steadfast prayers and your financial support which will be used to further the Kingdom of God and to help liberate those who are fettered and bound by sin, sickness, fear and evil powers!

The days in which we live are indeed very evil, but we can encourage ourselves with the Word of God that says: “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” (Rom.5: 20)

The Gospel of Christ is so powerful that it can change hearts, lives, communities and nations! When we remember how He has changed us we know He can change anyone! St. Paul wrote:

Among whom also we ALL had our conversation (lifestyle) in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

“BUT GOD, Who is rich in MERCY, for His great LOVE wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us (made us alive) together with CHRIST, (by grace are ye saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ  Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:3-6)

Let us look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith and with His love and grace in our hearts and lives gather souls for His Kingdom! May the Lord strengthen and heal you, my friend, and keep you and all yours in His great love and care!

Europe has forsaken Jesus Christ. Satan has blinded their eyes. Remember the Pope's love affair with Fascist Benito Mussolini & Nazi Adolf Hitler and now with the enemies of God's Chosen people. Europe is sleepwalking into big Trouble and will pay dearly for it. - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Italy against the Jews - Rapid spread of anti-Israel zeal

The first months of 2011 have confirmed Italy’s status as one of Iran’s biggest European trade partners, all while the ayatollahs pursue the means to perpetuate a second Holocaust. Rome is doing business as usual with the greatest totalitarian threat to international peace and security since the defeats of Soviet communism and Nazi fascism, providing a lifeline to an Iranian regime that is cruel at home, sponsors terror abroad and preaches anti-Jewish revolt.
Meanwhile, a murky wave of anti-Israel zeal is also growing at an alarming rate in Italy. “The old anti-Jewish libels are now aimed at the State of Israel”, says Stefano Gatti, one of the top researchers at the Center for Documentation in Milan.

Pro-Palestinian activists are threatening to “ignite” Milan, the financial capital of Italy where an Israeli exhibit is going displayed in a central square. Meanwhile, the city of Turin hosted a “cultural festival” where the image of Shimon Peres was used as a shoe-throwing target. For one euro, Italian students had the chance to hit the face of Israel’s president, who was fitted with a Nazi-style Jewish nose.

An Israeli student at the University of Genoa has been harassed and threatened with death by Arab students. Muslim students shouted at him “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) and “Itbach el Yahud” (slaughter the Jews.) Another Israeli student at the University of Turin, Amit Peer, confessed that “the Jews here are hiding their own identity because they risk becoming a target.”

Meanwhile, demonization of the Jews is spreading in the liberal media. Leftist newspaper “Il Manifesto” published a caricature of a Jewish candidate for parliament, Fiamma Nirenstein, with Fascist insignia, a campaign button and a Star of David. The cartoon “Electoral Monsters” was dubbed “Fiamma Frankenstein.”
L’Unità, the official newspaper of the leftist Democratic Party, published an interview with anthropologist Nancy Scheper-Hughes, where she claimed that Israel is a world leader in organ trafficking. The accusation resembled that of the Middle Ages blood libel whereby Jews were accused of kidnapping Christian and Muslim children before Passover in order to murder them and use their blood for matza.

Ucoii, the largest Islamic organization in Italy, published an ad in many mainstream newspapers entitled “Nazi Bloodshed Yesterday, Israeli Bloodshed Today.” An Italian court ruled that the Nazification of Israel came under “freedom of expression” and was not a case of incitement to hatred.

In 2009, Italy sent the largest European delegation of artists to an Iranian cartoonist festival on the Holocaust. The cartoons presented the Holocaust as an invention of Jews with hooked noses typical of Nazi propaganda.

Pisa, Rome and Bologna are among the most prestigious Italian universities that annually host anti-Zionist conferences and pro-Intifada speakers. Israeli attaché Shai Cohen was prevented from speaking at Pisa University after a violent attack by students, who called out “butcher, fascist, assassin.” The Israeli ambassador, Ehud Gol, fled Florence University after a similar “protest.”

Meanwhile, the Riccione city council sponsored a meeting against “the militarism of Israel,” explaining that “Israeli governments don’t represent the Jewish people.” The Coop and Conad, two of the largest supermarket chains in Italy, for some weeks last year removed Israeli products from their shelves in the name of a boycott of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria. Lists of boycotted Israeli products have been launched also by local Christian communities and leftist groups, targeting L’Oreal, Ahava and other firms.

Flaica, a trade union with 8,000 members working in large-scale retail, promoted the boycott of “all Rome shops managed by Jews” and drew up lists of Jewish-owned shops to be avoided, because of “what is happening in Gaza.” In Rome, a new pro-Hamas Freedom Flotilla has just been presented in the official buildings of the Professional Order of the Journalists, a body financed by the Italian government. Some members of Turkish terror group IHH were also on hand.

Anti-Semitism becoming fashionable
The Foreign Press Association in Rome, a state-funded institution, suspended two journalists, both Jews: Yedioth Ahronoth correspondent Menachem Gantz and French journalist Ariel Dumont. Iranian journalist Masoumi Nejad, who has been arrested for a arms trading involving Italy and Iran, has never been expelled by the association.

Anti-Semitism is becoming fashionable also among the “chattering classes”, intellectuals and academicians. Actress Sabina Guzzanti attacked the “Jewish race” in a primetime television program. Literary guru Alberto Asor Rosa wrote in a book on the transformation of the Jews from “a persecuted race” to “a warrior persecutor race.” Renowned leftist philosopher Gianni Vattimo declared that he had “re-evaluated” “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” and now felt they largely reflect the truth about the Jews.

The slandering of Israel is also growing among the most important Catholic journalists. Vittorio Messori, who conducted the first book-length interview with Pope John Paul II, recently wrote an editorial for the Italian daily “Il Corriere della sera” where he stated: “All governments of all Muslim nations are under the tsunami of the violent intrusion of Zionism that has come to put its capital in Jerusalem.”
The growing anti-Semitism is also evident by the security around the largest synagogue in Rome, one of the oldest in the world. The Jewish temple looks like a military outpost: Private guards everywhere, metal detectors and policemen at every corner. The Jewish school looks like a “sterilized area” protected by policemen, bodyguards and cameras. All school windows are plumbed with iron grates. I saw the same in the Jewish homes of Hebron and in the schools of Sderot.

Pro-Palestinian groups just recently marched into the ghetto, shouting “Fascist” and “Assassins” to the Jews, some of them Holocaust survivors. It was here, on 16 October 1943, that 1,200 Jews were deported to Auschwitz; none of the 200 Jewish children came back home. It was here, on 9 October 1982, that an Arab terrorist opened fire on Jews; a two-year old baby, Stefano Taché, became the first Italian victim of anti-Jewish violence since the war.

Not far from the ghetto, in the lower part of the Titus Gate, named after the Roman emperor who destroyed the Second Temple in Jerusalem, someone wrote in Hebrew: “Am Yisrael Chai.” The people of Israel not only had not been destroyed, but defiantly remained alive. It's comforting to know that there is still someone with the courage to write it.

"The Gospel Jesus Christ frees all who come to God the Father through His Son. St. Paul said that we should take the Gospel, "to the Jews first and also to the Greek," (Rom.1: 16)

If present trends continue Israel will be able to field the largest land army in the Middle East

Like the vanishing point in a perspective painting, long-term projections help us order our perceptions of what we see in front of us today. Here's one to think about, fresh from the just-released update of the United Nations' population forecasts: At constant fertility, Israel will have more young people by the end of this century than either Turkey or Iran, and more than German, Italy or Spain.

With a total fertility rate of three children per woman, Israel's total population will rise to 24 million by the end of the present century. Iran's fertility is around 1.7 and falling, while the fertility for ethnic Turks is only 1.5 (the Kurdish minority has a fertility rate of around 4.5).

Not that the size of land armies matters much in an era of high-tech warfare, but if present trends continue, Israel will be able to field the largest land army in the Middle East. That startling data point, though, should alert analysts to a more relevant problem: among the military powers in the Middle East, Israel will be the only one with a viable population structure by the middle of this century.

That is why it is in America's interest to keep Israel as an ally. Israel is not only the strongest power in the region; in a generation or two it will be the only power in the region, the last man standing among ruined neighbors. The demographic time bomb in the region is not the Palestinian Arabs on the West Bank, as the Israeli peace party wrongly believed, but rather Israel itself.

The right way to read this projection is backwards: Israelis love children and have lots of them because they are happy, optimistic and prosperous. Most of Israel's population increase comes from so-called "secular" Israelis, who have 2.6 children on average, more than any other people in the industrial world. The ultra-Orthodox have seven or eight, bringing total fertility to three children.

Europeans, Turks and Iranians, by contrast, have very few children because they are grumpy, alienated and pessimistic. It's not so much the projection of the demographic future cranked out by the United Nations computers that counts, but rather the implicit vision of the future in the minds of today's prospective parents.

People who can't be bothered to have children presumably have a very dim view of days to come. Reams have been written, to be sure, about Europe's demographic tailspin. Less has been said about Persian pessimism and Anatolian anomie.

Paradoxically, this makes Israel's present position dangerous, for its enemies understand that they have a very brief window in which to encircle the Jewish superpower. The collapse of Egypt and possibly that of Syria shortens this window. Nothing short of American support for a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state on the 1949 armistice lines followed by economic sanctions against Israel, though, is likely to make a difference, and this seems unlikely.

Israel already is a high-tech superpower. Israeli leads the Group of 7 industrial nations in patent applications. As Professor Reuven Brenner of McGill University wrote in the January 2010 issue of First Things:

Today Israel's venture capital industry still raises more funds than any other venue except the United States. In 2006 alone, 402 Israeli hi-tech companies raised over $1.62 billion - the highest amount in the past five years. That same year, Israel had 80 active venture capital funds and over $10 billion under management, invested in over 1,000 Israeli start-ups.

Maintaining the stunning progress of the past decade will be a challenge, because Israel's high-tech sector received a one-time boost from Russian emigration. As Brenner observes:

Of the million Russians who moved to Israel during the 1980s and 1990s, more than 55 percent had post-secondary education, and more than half held academic and managerial positions in their former country ... This made Israel the world leader in the scientist and engineer workforce, followed by the United States with 80 and Germany with 55 scientists and engineers per 10,000 members of its labor force.

Israel's prowess in the arts matches its accomplishments in technology and business. Israel has become something of a superpower in that most characteristically Western art form, classical music. In a July 21, 2010, survey of Israeli music for the webzine Tablet, I wrote, "Israelis take to classical music - the art form that most clearly creates a sense of the future - like no other people on earth, to the point that music has become part of Israel's character, an embodiment of the national genius for balancing hope and fear."

Israel has one the largest local audience for chamber music recitals of any country in the world, and its leading musicians occupy top slots around the world - for example Guy Braunstein, concertmaster (principal violin) of the Berlin Philharmonic.

This, I believe, explains the implacable hostility of Israel's neighbors, as well as the Europeans. It is the unquenchable envy of the dying towards the living. Having failed at Christianity, and afterward failed at neo-pagan nationalism, Europe has reconciled itself to a quiet passage into oblivion.

Israel's success is a horrible reminder of European failure; its bumptious nationalism grates against Europe's determination to forget its own ugly embrace of nationalism; and its implicitly religious raison d'etre provokes post-Christian rage. Above all, it offends Europe that Israel brims with life. Some of Europe's great nations may not survive the present century. At constant fertility, Israel will have more citizens than any of the Eastern European countries where large numbers of Jews resided prior to the Holocaust.

Whoever sent us this model letter is brilliant. What a great letter send to all American and European Heads of State who are asking Israel to place themselves in 'Holocaust Mode' once more - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Dear President Obama:

I am writing today with a somewhat unusual request.
I am asking that you return America to its August 20, 1959 borders so that Hawaii is no longer a state and you are no longer a citizen.

Jerusalem is mentioned 656 times in the Holy Bible but not once in the Koran. In England millions of British pounds have been spent changing their prison toilets so that their large population of Muslim criminals would not turn their backsides to Mecca while on the toilet, yet when Muslims regularly pray they face Mecca and their rear ends are lifted up toward Jerusalem. The land of Israel belongs to Almighty God and Jerusalem has belonged to the Jews for 3,000 years since it was conquored by King David. - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Israeli Archaeologists Positive 2nd Jewish Temple waiting To Be Unearthed From Temple Mount

One of the most prominent Israeli archaeologists declared today that remains from the First and Second Jewish Temple period – including the Second Temple itself – lie underneath the Temple Mount surface, just waiting to be excavated.

Dr. Eilat Mazar of Hebrew University accused the site's Islamic custodians of destroying Jewish artifacts while attempting to turn the Temple Mount into a "giant mosque."

"I think we will find all the remains starting from the First Temple period and remains of the Temple itself," said Mazar, a third-generation archeologist. "I mean, no one took it out, it's there."

Mazar said she is "absolutely sure" remains from the First and Second Temple periods, including "the Second Temple itself," as well as later remains from the Byzantine and early Islamic periods, are just under the surface of the Temple Mount.

Continued Mazar: "I am absolutely sure, in light of my very rich experience excavating Jerusalem for 30 years now, all these remains are waiting to be revealed. And if it can't be done nowadays because of all kinds of sensitivities, at least we should take care that it won't be ruined for future excavations when time comes."

Mazar was speaking in an interview with "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" on New York's WABC Radio.

Mazar heads the excavation department at the City of David, an archaeological village at the foot of the Temple Mount said to be the place where King David built his palace and established his capital.

Mazar has led digs that discovered multiple Temple-era remains, including a tunnel used by the Israelites to conquer Jerusalem, as well as the world's largest ritual bath.

She accused the Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Temple Mount, of destroying temple artifacts while attempting to turn the Temple Mount into a "giant mosque."

Mazar was speaking to Klein in light of the recent publication of a report by Israeli State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss, which included a special, largely secret section accusing the Wafq of disposing of Jewish artifacts.

Citing security concerns, the majority of the special report on the mount was not published, but the small portion made public revealed severe deficiencies in Israeli oversight of Islamic construction that has been done on the mount.

The report fingered four Israeli state agencies – the police, the Antiquities Authority, the Jerusalem municipality and the Justice Ministry – for not doing enough to conduct continuous supervision of Wafq construction.

"Protection of artifacts from the Temple Mount and preventing their ruin is a public goal of the first order," the report states. "It is important to note that any digging and other works on the Temple Mount must be conducted in consideration of the character of the place and after receiving all required permits and meeting all archeological guidelines. As a rule, use of heavy machinery should be avoided."

The reference to heavy machinery referred to a decision in 2007 by then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to allow the Waqf to use a heavy tractor to dig a 1,300-foot trench around the periphery of the Mount. The Waqf claimed the trench was necessary to replace electrical cables outside mosques on the site.

At the time, the Waqf was accused of destroying artifacts it found at the site.

Allowing the use of bulldozers at any sensitive archaeological site is extremely unusual, particularly at the Temple Mount, which experts say contains sealed layers of artifacts as shallow as two to three feet below the surface.

The mount never has been properly excavated. Heavy equipment could easily damage any existing artifacts, stressed Israeli experts at the time, who asserted the area should be excavated slowly and carefully by hand.

History of destruction

The last time the Waqf conducted a large dig on the Temple Mount – during construction in 1998 of a massive mosque at an area referred to as Solomon's Stables – the Waqf reportedly disposed of truckloads of dirt containing Jewish artifacts from the First and Second Temple periods.

After media reported the disposals, Israeli authorities froze the construction permit given to the Waqf, and the dirt was transferred to Israeli archaeologists for analysis.

The Israeli authorities found scores of Jewish Temple relics in the nearly disposed dirt, including coins with Hebrew writing referencing the Temple, part of a Hasmonean lamp, several other Second Temple lamps, Temple-period pottery with Jewish markings, a marble pillar shaft and other Temple period artifacts.

Mazar's earlier find

WND reported that in 2008 Mazar and a team of archaeologists unearthed what's believed to be the royal seal of an Old Testament prince who is said to have tossed the prophet Jeremiah down a well.

Royal seal bears name of Gedaliah, a prince to Judah's King Zedekiah, mentioned in the Old Testament Book of Jeremiah.

The stamped engraving, known as a "bulla," was discovered about 600 feet south of the Temple Mount in clay, astonishingly well-preserved, bearing the name of Gedaliah, the son of Pashur.

"How absolutely fantastic and special this find is can only be realized when you hold in your hand this magnificent one-centimeter piece of clay and know that it survived 2,600 years in the debris of the destruction, and came to us complete and in perfect condition," Mazar said.

Gedaliah is mentioned by name in Jeremiah 38:1 as he served Judah's King Zedekiah in the final days before Jerusalem was conquered by Babylon's King Nebuchadnezzar in 586 B.C.

The prophet's writings tell of the actions that Gedaliah and his fellow princes took against him:

"Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire." (Jeremiah 38:6)

The letters on the seal are in ancient Hebrew, and Mazar told WND the relic was recovered through a wet-sifting process. She says the method was learned after the "illegal excavations" by the Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Temple Mount, who have been dumping debris in huge mounds.

"The wet sifting that we did for the destruction debris from our excavations indeed allowed us to uncover hundreds of different kinds of small finds such as tiny fish bones, Phoenician glass beads, Hebrew, Babylonian and Egyptian bullae and seals, pits and seeds, hematite and limestone weights, arrowheads, figurines, jewelry and more," she said.

She added, "It is not very often that such a discovery happens to archaeologists in which real figures of the past shake off the dust of history and so vividly revive the stories of the Bible."

The Bible teaches that there is no respect of persons with God! All are equal in His sight. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Rom.3: 23); "And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2: 21)

RACISM IS WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!
A TRUE STORY - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

This happened on a British Airways flight between Johannesburg , South Africa ; London . A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man. Very disturbed by this, she called the air hostess. "You obviously do not see it then?" she asked. "You placed me next to a black man. I did not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."

"Be calm please," the hostess replied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available." The hostess went away then came back a few minutes later. "Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in Economy Class. I spoke to the captain And he informed me that there is also no seat in Business Class. All the same, we still have one place in First Class."

Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued. "It is not usual for our company to permit someone from Economy Class to sit in First Class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."

The Hostess turned to the black man and said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First Class." At that moment, the other passengers, who'd been shocked by what they had just witnessed, stood up and applauded.

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has praised Anglican bishops for resisting homosexuality.

“I salute the Archbishop and bishops of Africa for resisting disorientation and a decadent culture, which he said was being passed by Western nations.”

Describing homosexuality as mtumbavu (Swahili for stupid), the President said: “Don’t fear, resist and do not compromise on that. It is a danger not only to the believers but to the whole of Africa. It is bad if our children become complacent and think that people who are not in order are alright.”

Museveni was speaking yesterday as chief guest at the consecration of the Rev. Canon Patrick Gidudu, as the seventh bishop of Mbale Diocese, at St Andrew’s Cathedral. “These foreigners should go and practice their nonsense elsewhere. That is the minimum demand.” Museveni donated a new Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle to the enthroned bishop.

“When I learnt that the bishop was being consecrated I thought of shoes for the bishop. Since walking is now outdated, I thought I should give him a car, which is parked outside,” he said as he handed the keys to the bishop, prompting cheers from the fully packed church.

Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi, who presided over the consecration, is spearheading a global protest against homosexuality.

He thanked the Government for its support. “The Anglican Church is facing significant challenges but I would like to assure you that the church is steady,” he said.

Orombi advised him to be a servant of the flock and not expect to be served. “Your mode of leadership should be that, I came not to be served but to serve.”

The archbishop urged the Government to continue fighting corruption and not to give up the peace talks with the LRA rebels.

Gidudu promised to work with the Government to provide services to the people and to help the clergy acquire pastoral skills.

Gidudu was born in 1956 in Bumadanda, Bufumbo, and Mbale district. He went to Bukonde Primary school, then Mbale S.S. and St. Bernard’s College Masaka and Bishop Tucker Theological College Mukono. He was ordained priest in 1986.

The Church of Uganda and other Anglican provinces in Africa, South America and Australia recently formed a new movement to challenge Canterbury’s failure to discipline the Episcopal Church of America, which recognise same sex marriages and consecrated gay priests.

Last month, a quarter of the world’s bishops angered by the ordination of gay bishop Gene Robinson in the US, boycotted the once-a-decade Lambeth Conference of bishops in the UK.

Several bishops, clergy, government officials and MPs attended.

Dr. Kizza Besigye, the head of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and Miria Obote of the Uganda People’s Congress also attended. When the President entered the church, the congregation stood up except Nandala Mafabi (FDC) and Besigye who walked out shortly after amid murmurs.

ANGEL APPEARS NEAR ROVANIEMI, FINLAND
WITH MESSAGE: Stops traffic for one- half Hour!

Dear Pastor Max!

Pastor Engeli reported this over the Visjon Norge TV Network on the 27th May:

People driving on the outskirts of the Finnish town called Rovaniemi suddenly saw a huge angel standing in the middle of the road, his wings open; On his wings there was written: "Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the wine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe." (Rev: 14:15) The cars had to stop for half an hour before the angel disappeared. The story is  true, said Pastor Engeli.

Cain: With All Due Respect, Obama Couldn't Run a Pizza Joint

Thursday, 02 Jun 2011 04:27 PM
By David A. Patten
Fast-rising GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO emerging as a strong contender in the Iowa caucuses, blasted President Barack Obama’s leadership abilities in an exclusive Newsmax interview, saying Obama “could not run one Godfather’s pizza restaurant.”

Cain, who has been rising fast in the polls after his impressive showing in last month’s presidential debate in South Carolina, called the president as an indecisive leader who has lost most Americans' confidence.

“The president has demonstrated that he lacks leadership in a whole lot of ways [and] could not run a company,” Cain told Newsmax. “And I don’t mean to be disrespectful: He could not run one Godfather’s pizza restaurant.

“Instead of being decisive, he dithers,” Cain said. “Instead of having a management structure where he can entrust to some key people responsibility, he has an organization that is unmanageable. When he added 36 czars to go with the ones he already inherited, that is an unmanageable structure. So nobody knows who’s in charge."

Although GOP attacks charging Obama with weak leadership have been muted since the successful U.S. operation to take out Osama bin Laden, those complaints have resurfaced with the growing frustration over the lack of a plausible plan from the administration on reining in entitlements and deficit spending.

“So he’s not decisive, he dithers. He has a structure that doesn’t work,” Cain said. “He’s inconsistent, and he’s broken a lot of promises, and he is losing the confidence not only of a lot of his supporters, but has lost clearly a lot of confidence from the American people.”

Cain, a conservative talk-show host and a respected voice in management circles, is a turnaround specialist who is credited with saving Godfather’s Pizza from bankruptcy during his tenure as its CEO. Cain also served a stint as chairman of the National Restaurant Association, and was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from 1995-1996.

Cain’s broadside against Obama might have gone unnoticed before his abrupt emergence on the national political scene. A new Public Policy Polling survey released Wednesday shows Cain is now tied with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in Iowa, behind only former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romne, who officially announced his candidacy on Thursday.

Palin and Cain each had 15 percent, compared with 21 percent for Romney. Unlike Cain, however, Palin has yet to toss her hat in the ring.

The Public Policy survey was the third poll in the past week showing Cain near the top of the GOP heap -- all the more impressive considering that he’s still battling relatively low levels of name recognition.

Other highlights from Cain’s exclusive Newsmax interview:
·                       Regarding criticism that he has stumbled over foreign policy issues, Cain openly concedes: “That’s a legitimate criticism of me.” But his common-sense experience and problem-solving skills, he says, can overcome any lack of foreign-policy expertise. “People need to keep in mind: What president has ever taken office who knew everything?” Cain asks. He says that he plans to surround himself with foreign-policy experts, and will ask the right questions to pursue a commonsense approach.
·                       Cain believes the Obama administration has greatly exaggerated to impact failing to raise the debt ceiling would have on the U.S. economy. Cain says that he would consider furloughing federal employees and temporarily shutting down some government operations, rather than increasing the government’s authority to borrow more money, about half of which comes from foreign governments. “I would furlough some federal employees. This is what a businessman does, when it comes to having to save a business,” he says. “You do what you have to do, and make some tough choices.”
·                       He reiterates that he had no problem with the concept of a TARP program to save the banking system from a global financial meltdown. But the implementation of TARP, he says, “was a disaster,” adding: “They picked winners and losers, they used the money for things other than banks, they tried to force money on banks that didn’t want it. The administration used it purely as a discretionary tool.”
·                       He predicts that the GOP presidential nominee will be a grass-roots conservative, rather than an establishment Republican. As evidence of the strength of the grass-roots fervor shaping the political process, he tells Newsmax that donations to his campaign “have gone up dramatically.”
Cain tells Newsmax he now has “almost 175,000 online volunteers ready to go to work for the Herman Cain presidential campaign.”

Bishop Condemns 'Jesus as Islam Prophet' Ads in Australia

Friday, 03 Jun 2011 04:55 PM
By Andra Varin
A Catholic bishop has denounced as “provocative and offensive” several billboards that a Muslim group slapped up in Australia’s largest city featuring slogans such as “Jesus: A Prophet of Islam.” The objectionable messages insult Christian doctrine and should be taken down, said Bishop Julian Porteous of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

The group MyPeace has rented out billboards in Sydney that carry one of four messages: “Jesus: A Prophet of Islam,” “Holy Qur’an: The Final Testament,” “Muhammad: Mercy to Mankind” and “Islam: Got Questions? Get Answers.”
On its website, MyPeace says its outreach campaign will expand soon to include advertisements on about 40 city buses, and it’s seeking donations to help pay for the ads.

Porteous criticized the campaign, insisting that Jesus is “more than a prophet. He is the Son of God. He is acclaimed lord and savior of humanity. This statement is a direct assault on Christian beliefs," the bishop said.

"In Australia, with its Christian heritage, a billboard carrying the statement `Jesus A prophet of Islam' is provocative and offensive to Christians,” Porteous said, according to the Australian Associated Press.

He urged MyPeace to take down the ads, which are displayed in prominent areas of Sydney.

The Anglican bishop of South Sydney, Rob Forsyth, told Fairfax news agency that he didn’t consider the billboards offensive but that it is “complete nonsense” to call Jesus a prophet of Islam.

MyPeace said its aim was to “address the many misconceptions on Islam” and educate Australians about the faith, not to antagonize Christians.

One of the billboards was vandalized the day after it went up, but MyPeace organizer Diaa Mohamed told Fairfax the campaign has received “overwhelmingly positive feedback from Christians, atheists, Muslims, everyday Australians.”

All the glory, honour and praise goes to Jesus Christ the Great Physician!

GERALDINE RIDEOUT
MIRACLE!
Geraldine's Testimony was carried by CBC TV across Newfoundland twice and across Canada once on the Take Thirty' program. Her medical doctor appeared with her as well. The following interview was done in Edmonton in 1984.

Pastor Solbrekken: A father and mother carried their little girl into our gospel meeting in Newfoundland.

She was 16 years of age, approximately two and one-half feet tall and weighed twenty-five pounds. They laid her in my arms for special prayer. It was the month of May, 1968.

The little girl had never walked, never stood; she was dying! That little girl was Geraldine Rideout! She was healed that night; and from that night and on she began to improve. At the age of twenty-one, she started grade one in school. Now she is over thirty years old and in grade ten.

Not only did she receive this tremendous miracle, but in November, 1982, she was almost killed in a tragic school-bus accident. Forty-three children were in the bus. She was thrown through the wind shield, the bus rolled over her and missed her by just a few inches. They found her in a ditch of water and mud.

Ruth Rideout, her mother: Geraldine was two pounds at birth so we had no hope of her even living.

Doctors had given her up to die.

They said she MIGHT live to be six years old. But, I thank God that she lived and she is now over thirty years of age.  I thank the Lord for Jesus.  He  has done a real miracle in Geraldine's life.  There was nothing anyone could do.
All I could do was give her loving care.

I took her to many doctors and they told me to take her home and love her; as I wouldn't have her for long!
I wasn't planning on giving up easily. I used to say, "Lord, raise her up for your glory; by your stripes she is healed". I would get up in the morning, send the other children to school and then I would sit by her little crib.

I would tell her about Jesus! I told her if we believed together that one day she would be like other girls.  She would say, "Yes, I will be like other girls because Jesus is going to heal me for the glory of God".

BECAUSE OF THE LOVE OF JESUS

Many times I was discouraged and sometimes the enemy would come and tell me it was no use to pray. But I said, "Lord, I am going to trust you". I know this is why we are here tonight, because of the love of Jesus.

The mighty power of God raised her up and healed her for His Glory.  I thank Him tonight for all that He means to me and for all He has done for Geraldine.

We love Geraldine very much, I don't think I could live without her. Sometimes I wonder what I would do if anything happened to her, but, I know that Jesus is not going to take her from me yet. He has a work for her to do.

When she was in the bus accident and they came to tell me that they had taken her to the hospital, it really hurt. I didn't know what to say or what to do. Pastor Ken called and asked if I wanted him to go and see her. When we arrived they had her on the table and they didn't have much hope of her living. She had twenty stitches in her head and she was really bad to look at.

I thank God tonight because He brought her through it. He is continuing to do a real work in her life.

SHE WAS LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF DOUGH

God has done many miracles for her. One time she had a bad back. When she was born, she was very deformed and twisted. Her little arms and legs were deformed, and her feet were turned right around behind.

She was a like a little bit of dough, she had no bones in her body. Her little hips used to lay just as you had put her down. You couldn't put any clothes on her.

The night she was born I just didn't know what to do. So I said, "Lord, you know all about her, and I know you are going to raise her for your glory". That night we called on our preacher, Pastor Charlie Roussel, and we laid Geraldine in his arms and he prayed. I gave her to Jesus that night and I'm not taking her back now because she belongs to Jesus.

I believe Jesus has a real work for her to do. I am believing and waiting because there is not much time left to tell others. I believe Jesus is coming soon and I want to be found ready when He comes. Today, if there is anyone who needs healing or salvation, or anything from Jesus, He can do anything that you would ask Him to do.

There is nothing too hard, too small or too big for Jesus; because Jesus is a miracle worker and He can do all things.

Don't be afraid to reach out because Jesus is waiting. Whatever your need is tonight, reach out and touch Him and He will answer your prayer.

Pastor Solbrekken: "Sister Rideout, you fed her from an eye dropper for about four years"?

Ruth Rideout: Yes, the night she was born, she would not take a bottle or the breast milk. What I used to do was squeeze the milk from my breast and put it in a little dish and I would feed her with a medicine tube. That is how I fed her for three years. That is how I kept her alive.

She couldn't such as she had no strength in her little mouth to draw the milk into her mouth. Until she was fourteen years old, I fed her from a spoon. I took her to doctors and they would say,
"Take her home and look after her yourself, because we cannot do as much as you do". When the time would come to feed her, they wouldn't stop to feed her; if she wouldn't take her feedings they would just leave her. He told me I was a wonderful mother and was doing a real work in her life. But, they didn't think or believe that she was going to live.

           I WOULDN'T GIVE UP!

When she got sick, I would say, "Lord, nothing is going to happen to her. She is going to live and be raised up for your glory".

That is how I used to pray! I would spend my days praying. I would send the others out to school and I would come back and lean over her crib. If you could see the tears I shed, you could say that I shed boxes of tears over her crib.

She would cry out to me "Mom". She couldn't turn away or move her body in any way. I would have to hold onto her hand through her crib, and this was the only thing that made me feel safe.

In the winter, dad and I would take turns of fasting and praying. We would run back and forth to see Geraldine and feel her arms and legs to see if the lumps were gone and if her feet were right.

When she was sleeping, I would tie her feet together with ribbon, believing that when I untied the ribbon that her feet would be normal. One day I untied the ribbon and her feet were healed.
I really have something to thank the Lord for! That is how she was brought up until she was sixteen years old.

     SHE SUFFERED IN PAIN!

There were times she would cry but no tears came. As soon as she saw me coming, she would begin to cry. Both arms and legs were broken. I would prop one leg up on a pillow and place another pillow under her arm. The doctors said her legs were like egg shells.

At one time both her arms and legs were broken, as well as her jaw and back. Every bone in her body almost has been broken at one time or other during her first 16 years of misery until Jesus healed her in the Max Solbrekken crusade!

Her brothers and sisters would want to hold her, but they couldn't, as her bones would break. We couldn't even dress her. That is how fragile she was!

Pastor Solbrekken: When you brought her to the crusade, did you expect a miracle that night?

   Ruth Reidout:  Yes, I did.

Pastor Solbrekken: For the first time in her life she stood to her feet, in 1968?

Ruth Rideout: Yes, the next day we brought her to our married daughter's home, and she walked right into the house for the first time in her life!

GERALDINE RIDEOUT TELLS HER OWN STORY!

Pastor Solbrekken: Geraldine Rideout, the only person in the entire world, according to medical science, as far as we know, that has ever been cured of "Osteo Genesis Imperfecta".

As a matter of fact, if I have my figures right, most babies born with this disease die within a few hours or days. Only four babies out of every one hundred thousand that are born with this disease, even live.

She is one of the four!  Most of them are crippled and die at a young age. But here she is, over thirty years of age, started school at twenty-one and now in grade ten; and has come through a terrible accident.

Her doctor sent a message to me and said, "You tell Pastor Solbrekken that if he had seen you in that ditch, he wouldn't believe that you could be alive today, because when she went through the windshield of that bus in November of 1982 and was lying in a ditch with both of her ankles broken and her head bleeding for three weeks, hemorraging, twenty stitches!  Now that is really another miracle!"

Geraldine Rideout: It is a real thrill to be with Pastor Solbrekken, and I want to tell you that he is a real sport. Believe me. I have many things to praise God for; but the first thing I want to thank Him for is saving me. I was just a little girl of four, and VERY SICK! I didn't know what it was like to be able to go out and meet with people like all you nice people tonight.
My mom came into my room and she began to tell me about Jesus and what He could do and how He could save and heal us if we believe, together.

In my rom, I gave my life to Jesus and have been serving Him since that day. He means everything to me. I used to have two broken legs and two broken arms all at once, a broken back and turned up feet; clothes couldn't even touch my body.

My mom would come in the mornings and as she would begin to move me, I knew that when she would leave the room, my body would be full of pain.

My bones were soft as egg shells.

That is what the doctors were telling us last year. They said, "no one lives, but if they live, they would need to be carried in a wheelchair. They would probably only live till about six or seven years of age". But Praise God, I have lived over thirty years. Today I am going to school and I am living a normal life like any other girl.

            JESUS WAS ALWAYS THERE!

My mother always stood with me when the other children went to school and my dad had to go to work. He used to work away in the lumber camp and he would pray. When the pain got real bad, I would say, "Mom, write dad a letter". I knew when he got that letter, the pain would ease off.

It is not always easy suffering with broken bones, it was very painful. That is why I couldn't eat, I couldn't sit up, I couldn't do anything because I was just suffering too much in my body.

As mother would read the Bible to me, she would always repeat "By His stripes, we are healed". Sometimes now when I am travelling I hear that verse and it brings me back to my childhood days.

My mother would send the others off to school then come in to see me. I was having so much pain, there were mornings I would have given the world to be able to get up, dress and go to school with my brothers and sisters. They would come home from school and would tell me what they had learned that day. Mom would bathe me with cold water.

I just couldn't take the pain! They would want to get near me, but no one could even sit on the bed I was lying in.
You couldn't believe,my friend, how bad I was, but God can do anything if we put our trust in Him.

        I LOVE GIVING MY TESTIMONY

I love giving my testimony, even though I have told it many times! The students at my school have accepted me real well even though I am much older than they are, butthey don't take it like that. They just take me as if I was fifteen or sixteen, just like themselves.
Last week, one fellow came in and said, "I think you should write a book about how sick you were and how you are now healed". I said, "You know, that is a good idea; when I graduate from school, I might do just that".

I owe all the praise to Jesus for what He has done for me.  Approximately six months ago, He filled me with the Holy Ghost and Fire! I was in Summerford Church, and I went up and began to sing. After I sang one piece, I knew I was different. That evening before going to the service, I felt a little bit burdened; like everyone would feel, doing so much singing, travelling and going to school. I felt so heavy, so I took my songs and laid them on the bed. I said, "Lord, let something happen tonight that has never happened before".

I went up that night, praise God! It was a nice little walk and I felt just like I was walking on air; like I was dancing around. I said, "My, do I ever feel good tonight". I told the Lord, "Lord, let something happen", but I didnot know it was going to happen to me.

That night He filled me with the Holy Ghost and Fire! Since that time, my friend, I have felt different. I have travelled more than ever, since the accident. I was getting many calls, but I was so sick. I said, "Lord, if you want me to go to those churches, please touch my body and make me whole". I was bleeding from the head so bad I didn't know what to do. Every night my mom laid me in the bed and it reminded me of when I was little. She could hardly handle me, I was so badly bruised.

She laid me in the bed and my head was bleeding heavily. I  thought to myself, that I can pray myself and be healed. I am going to take the pad off my head and go to sleep. I hadn't slept for more than an hour at one time in three weeks.

I said, "I am going to take off the pad in Jesus Name and I am going to have a good night's sleep. I took off the pad, lay it on the dresser and slept the whole night. The bleeding stopped and never started again. Praise God!

God has healed my body many times in little ways and I take everything to Jesus. Lots of times, I think of mom saying, "Geraldine, only take one day at a time". It is so true, Lord. One day at a time, Sweet Jesus. We can do anything if we just put our trust in Him. We must be willing to accept what we are and to do our part and then Jesus will help us.

Anyone who needs healing for your body, salvation for your soul, or whatever it is, Jesus is able tonight. Why not come and accept Him as your Saviour. God Bless you all!

Pastor Solbrekken: Geraldine tell the people a little more, about Osteo Genesis Imperfecta and the disease that is incurable without God's intervention!
Geraldine Rideout: When I was one year of age, my mom took me to a doctor and he wouldn't even take off the little suit I wore. All he had to do was look into my eyes and where normal eyes are white, mine were blue. That is how he knew that there was something wrong with the bones.

Mom took me home and she gave me to Jesus!

Mom and dad fasted and prayed over the years, but we didn't know the name of the disease. At the age of twenty-eight, I went to St. John's Hospital, as I had a female problem and that is when they told us the name of the disease from which I had been healed.

Now I can see how everything worked together for good. We did not know the name until that day. Just as I was admitted, they came with this large book and they began to talk to mom about how I had been living over the years, and how it came that I was still alive.

      They were really amazed.

They didn't know what to do. They were just gathering around me, like they were afraid. That is how it looked to me. They wouldn't even give me a needle. The doctor came in and said, "I am going to give her a needle". I don't want anyone else to touch her.

He was amazed to see that I was still living with Osteo Genesis Imperfecta.

THE NEXT DAY I FELT REALLY STRONG

After the night Pastor Solbrekken prayed for me, with every step I took, I would say, "One step in your name Lord, two steps in your name, Jesus". The next day, I said to mom, "I feel real strong, I can walk around the table".

I was like a baby in a way; I had to learn how to walk. So I asked mom, to give me my coat, and I walked down to my sister's house for the first time in my life. I guess it took me about ten minutes to walk and mom watched me from the window.

I just started off for the first time in my life.

MOM AND DAD ALWAYS HAD CLOTHES ON HAND FOR ME BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED SO MUCH THAT SOME DAY I WOULD BE LIKE OTHER GIRLS. THEY WOULD BUY CLOTHES AND HANG THEM IN MY ROOM.

I think about it now and it was not like it is today, it was not easy. No cars, just a kerosene lamp and a woodstove, but mom stood with me and today that is why she means so much to me!

I JUST COULDN'T TAKE THE PAIN

Another time I had a broken back and when I would say, "Mom come", I would cry but no tears would come. That may not sound correct, but it is true. I would just stare at her and cry as she came near because I knew that she was going to try to move me. Sometime during the day, they told mom, "She is not going to live, she is going now", but mom would pray over me, and I would come to and see her there.

It was only this week I was thinking about how I got smashed up in the bus accident and I didn't even hurt my back!

I thank God because He did it. It wasn't because of the goodness of myself or my parents. They would just stand with me and give me the prayer support I needed.  God did the rest!

200 TO 300 DOCTORS SEE ME

Just a couple of years ago I was asked to present myself before approximately two to three hundred doctors, in a large place. I went in, not knowing what I had to do; I thought I was going to have to answer alot of questions. I was sort of preparing myself, but, when I got in there, there was nothing to it.

I guess they got a big fright when they saw that I could walk, talk, use my hands and do the things that I could do.They just asked me a couple of questions like, "what I was going to do when I finished my education? How were my grades in school?" and a few questions like that. I asked the nurse if I could leave and she said, "You are free to go; everything is over". I went into the other room and told mom, "I am finished, I can go home".

They just couldn't believe that I was living, they wanted to see me and touch me and see that I could walk and do all the things that any normal person could do. They said:

"NO ONE ELSE LIVED!" THAT'S WHY THEY WANTED TO SEE ME IN PERSON!

My doctor told me to tell Pastor Solbrekken, that if he had seen me after that bus accident, he wouldn't have believed that I would be alive today!

It is all Jesus; He had His hand on that bus. The first thing that came in my mind was, "I am ready to go, but what about mom and Joan and the crowd behind?"

It happened just five months after I lost one brother. This was all going through my mind. It was just like claps of thunder, that is when the bus was hit. That is all I know.

The next thing I knew I opened my eyes. My face was up to Jesus, and I was praying, "Lord don't let me have any head injuries". I knew they were working on my head because my hair was all wet. A man from the church came and prayed that my hair would grow.
In the front, where I went through the window, there was a large hole and this is where I kept bleeding for three weeks. He came in and prayed, "Lord, close up that hole and let hair grow there". I will never forget it.

You couldn't find that hole now if you came up and searched my head; Jesus even replaced the hair on my head! It was just last week that I told mom, "I don't think I could even find that hole in my head now".

Jesus closed the hole and grew the hair! I mean that is really a miracle. Some people would have a hair loss for a long time. But you can't tell on that side, it is just as good as the other.

GOD EVEN GREW MY HAIR BACK IN!

The first thing I was concerned about when I came to in the hospital, was how much hair had they cut away, because I didn't want to lose my hair. There was a lot gone but mom said, "don't worry, the Lord will take care of your hair. Everything is going to be alright."

It seemed that her words were just ringing through my head. I wasn't allowed to sleep for twenty-four hours and I wasn't allowed to eat or move. I didn't know how badly I was hurt because I wasn't able to move. They just laid me in the same position that they had picked me up at the accident. They didn't think that I was ever going to come out of it.          But mom went home and she called around for prayer. The Pastor came and we all gathered that time and Pastor Murphy prayed, "Lord, let this night be short for her" because he knew that I couldn't sleep. The first time that I got restless was at five o'clock in the morning. The night was gone. I just couldn't believe it, and I said, "Lord, you sure answered the Pastor's prayer".

      ANOTHER ANSWER TO PRAYER

There was another girl there and I asked her for the time.  She said, "five o'clock! The only thing that used to bother me is they kept checking my eyes, to see how I was. I would be resting in peace and hey would awaken me. The peace was from Jesus because I could never do it on my own.

The next morning they came in and moved me. I was bruised all over! They bandaged my legs right up to the knees. The doctor said he could see "no hope." We wouldn't want your mother to see you so black and beat up, he stated.

Pastor Solbrekken would call me and pray.  I would tell my mother, Brother Solbrekken prayed and now all I have to do is believe. I came out of it real fast for a big accident; only through an answer to prayer!

I want to serve Him in any way I can because if He would have wanted to call me home, He could have done so. I know that Jesus can use me just as I am.
I missed out on alot when I was a little girl. I didn't know anything about childhood.

Life really started for me at the age of twenty-one when I started to attend school!

And I am not ashamed to tell it, because if it had not been for Jesus it would have never started.

      LIFE STARTED AT 21

When I came to school, the first thing I noticed was the blackboard. The first one I had seen in my life. Twenty-one years of age.

He set me down at a little desk and a wee chair, and he gave me a paper and a pencil. I had to show him how much I could do. I could do a little because mom used to spend a lot of time with me.

Everything that could be done in kindergarten, I could do, so they put me in grade one.

I did four grades in one year. I went to grade four. Then I would begin to do a year at a time and now I am in grade ten. I will never forget that evening, and I said, "Lord, I am in school, but I want you to do another miracle in my life; Please take away my shyness."

I still felt shy but I sat down and the teacher came along and I found I could talk with the teachers. The first thing the teacher said was, "I heard you are a good singer". When I was really tiny, mom would sit with me and tell me words and teach me little choruses. I would sing.

He called me aside one day in a little room and this was something really big for me, after all those years.
Imagine if you were stored away for twenty-one years and all of a sudden, you were put together with many students and teachers.

      It was really something!

I didn't sing with music, I just sang along with mom at home. He said, "We are having a music festival at Grand Falls, I was wondering if you would be able to come. There can only be one student picked from each school, and you are the student that I have chosen to go!"

The first thought that came to me was the mom would never let me go to Grand Falls, because I was never out of the house in my life. So I went home and told mom about the festival. The teacher had asked me to sing, "A Child of the King".
I did not know what it was all about then. At first she didn't know what to say. She said, "I'll think about it". I'll probably let you go with him because he is really a nice guy. He could not do enough for me at that time. Mom trusted him to take good care of me.
Mom took the hymn book and taught me word for word the song, "A Child of the King". There were five verses. The day came when we had to go and my teacher played for me.

We went into a real large building that was packed. I did not mind people then any more than if there had just been a few kids there, playing.

I just walked up, took the microphone and sang it perfectly without the words. By the time I had finished the song, there were microphones and cameras in front of me.

Mr. Whalen was beyond himself; he didn't know what to do. He was that excited. They were taking pictures, and we had a great time. Ever since that time I have received a lot of little gifts and cards. That was the first time I sang in public and praise God, He had taken away all of my shyness!

That was just another miracle in my life. I have had many miracles since that time. Now, I take everything to Jesus!

If you are sick, come and Jesus will deliver you. If you need baptism, salvation or whatever, come to Him tonight, my friend. He is willing!!! AMEN

PLEASE NOTE: In the 1980s Geraldine Rideout and her mother travelled to Edmonton where she testified in our church and on TV, also  in Red Deer, Regina and Winnipeg. We travelled together to England and Norway and Geraldine testified and sang everywhere before TV cameras and in our crusades. For 17 years she travelled across Newfoundland with other Evangelists and packed out buildings regularly. At age 48 she got married and still lives in Newfoundland. To God be the glory, Great things He has done!
