                                                       Pastor Max & Donna Solbrekken

THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS                                                                                                 by Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.

And he saith unto me: Write, blessed are they which are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me: These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not. I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren  that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the Testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Rev. 19: 9. 10)

Every prophecy in the Old Testament prophets or in the New Testament had ONE goal in the final analysis: To declare the Testimony of Jesus, which is the Record that Almighty God gave of His Son: The Redemption of the human race, and the glorification of the Father through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and His glorious resurrection from the the dead, three days later!

JESUS FULFILLS ALL PROPHECIES

The greatest sin anyone could commit is to Reject the TESTIMONY that God the Father gave of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ!

Every prophecy given ultimately pointed to and must continually point to Jesus Christ, the Saviour, Redeemer, and Liberator of the mankind. He fulfills all prophecies; past, present, and future! True prophecy is that Jesus Christ who created the world and all things in it, died vicariously for the sins of His creation to bring us to God the Father and reign with Him throughout eternity!

JESUS CHRIST IS THE WAY

After the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, His followers  were often called, The Way. “And Saul yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest. And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this Way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.” (Acts 9:1,2)

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” (John 14:6). There is only one way to God the Father, Eternal Life and Heaven. Jesus Christ alone is that way. Through His vicarious death for us on Golgotha and His resurrection from the dead on the third day, He met the righteous demands of divine Justice in the courts of Heaven for the Redemption of lost humanity!

JESUS IS THE TRUTH

In Him there are no falsehoods or lies. You can trust Him because He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has not lied, He will not lie, and He cannot lie, because Jesus Himself is the Truth!

He said, “Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you true. If the SON therefore shall make you free, ye shall free indeed.” (John 8: 32,36). Jesus is the Word of God and the Truth. He alone can be trusted, for He is God!

JESUS IS THE LIFE

Receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour is receiving the Life Giver Himself. His great  heart of love and mercy lifts you out of darkness into His marvellous light and glory, peace, and truth! He is Eternal Life and light.

Jesus Christ stated: “I am the Light of the world; he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12). “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of Life;

“For the Life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that Eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us. That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you that ye may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:1-3)

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. But if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:6, 7)

The Bible says:  “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said; After me cometh a Man which is preferred before me: for He was before me. And I knew Him not: but  that He should be made manifest to Israel therefore am I come baptizing with water.

“And John bare record saying, I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him. And I knew Him not, but He that sent me baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.” (John 1:29)

BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED

“Surely, He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement  of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him, the iniquity of us all.” (Is. 53:4-6): “Who His own Self bare our sins in His own Body on the Tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: BY WHOSE STRIPES YE WERE HEALED. For ye were as sheep going astray but are now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” (1 Peter 2: 24, 25):

“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God; Being justified freely by His Grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His BLOOD, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past; through the forbearance of God.” (Rom. 3: 23-25)

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die;           yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

“Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

“And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom now also we have received the Atonement. Wherefore, as by one man, sin entered the world, and death by sin; and so that death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Rom. 5: 6-12)

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS SAVES

The Bible declares: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,  like silver and gold… but with the precious BLOOD of Christ, as a lamb without blemish or spot: Who verily was ordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for you, who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him from the dead, and gave Him glory: that your faith be of God.” (1 Peter 1: 18-21)

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself took part of the same: that through Death He might Destroy him that had the power of death, thst is the Devil; and Deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Heb. 2: 14,15)

“Wherefore, holy bethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, Who was  faithful to Him that appointed Him as also Moses, insomuch  as he who builded the house hath more honour than the house. But Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the  hope firm unto the end.

HARDEN NOT YOUR HEARTS

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today, lest any of you be hardened through through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence until the end:

While  it is said, TODAY IF YE WILL HEAR HIS VOICE, HARDEN NOT YOUR HEARTS, AS IN THE PROVOCATION, IN THE DAY OF TEMPTATION IN THE WILDERNESS:

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelf, in departing from the Living God. But exhort one another daily, while is is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of CHRIST, if we hold fast the beginning of the confidence unto the end.” (Heb. 3: 1-6,12-14)

“For the Word of God is quick (living), and powerful, and sharper that any two-edged sword, piercing enen to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a  discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is their  any creature that is not manifest in their sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is psassed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us holdfast our pofession. For we have not a High Priest which cannot be TOUCHED with the feeling of our INFIRMITIES; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of GRACE, that we may obtain MERCY, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb.4:12-16)

THE PRINCIPLES OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith unto God. Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.” (Heb. 6: 1-3)

St. Paul systematically lays out the Doctrine of Christ. In the early years of my ministry, I studied and preached a great deal on this text. His purpose was to make sure that as we go on to perfection in seeking God, we must not forget these six basic doctrines.

REPENTANCE of dead works. The Jewish faith majored on obeying laws both major and minor which he called dead works. True repentance of all known sins and serving God in a Spirit led life is what is needed. When we have repented of sin  we can move ahead in a life of faith.

The doctrine of FAITH is casting ourselves into His strong arms. It is trusting His Word. Faith  is believing what God has said in His Word. It is obeying His Word! The doctrine of BAPTISMS is two-fold, namely Baptism in water for repentance and the Baptism in the Holy Ghost and Fire, for power with God! (Mark 16:16,17; Acts 2: 38)

The doctrine of LAYING ON OF HANDS for healing the sick and for ordination of Ministers and sending Workers into the Mission Field. (James 5: 14,15; Acts 8: 17-20). The doctrine of the RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD is our sure belief that as Christ AROSE from the dead, we also shall rise from the dead or be raptured in His Second Coming. (1 Thes. 4:16)

The doctrine of ETERNAL JUDGMENT declares that the wages of sin is death and the soul that sinneth shall surely die. Christ has paid for all the  sins of the world through His death on the Cross and His resurrection, for all who receive Him as Lord and Saviours. All others will be lost forever.

THERE IS HOPE FOR ALL SINNERS

The BIBLE says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. ” Jesus still  reaches out to all who will hear His voice and answer His call. He says, “Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest,”’ (Matt.11:28); “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in unto and He with Me.” (Rev.3:20)

All Scripture has its fulfillment in JESUS the Christ of God! Every ceremony, ritual, message, and prophecy must point to Christ the Lamb of God!

Jesus said, “Ye must be born again… Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water (the Word) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.”  (John 3:3,5-7). Amen.
