                                               ALL GLORY TO JESUS -

                                                HARRY RUSK GOSPEL SINGER

“So My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)

The fondest memories are sweetest when entwined with the Holy Spirit.  I treasure two of these.

The first one, when my daughter Meredith was age one.  She was stricken with dysentery and was extremely ill.  One night two doctors, Dr. March and Dr. Montoni, informed that she would be dead that night.  I was far from being a Christian at the time.  That late night I went into her bedroom, (she was in the hospital) knelt down and laid my hands on her pillow and said, “Jesus I will do anything if you will not let my baby die.”

Meredith survived and I failed my promise.  She went on a life of great health and a school teacher.  Secondly, when my son Dustin was 4-5 years old, he was stricken with severe ruptured eardrums.  There was blood and pus on his pillow every night.  In order to save his life, he was slated to go on the operating table.  One late night I was having a coffee by myself.  I heard a voice plain and loud and He said “don't let your son go onto the operating table.”  Relying on my memories of my mom and dad's faith in God, I knew it was Jesus' voice.

Then I was challenged; surviving this attack, I took Dustin to Pastor Max Solbrekken's crusade at Sandy Lake, AB.  I'd heard about Max plenty before this time and always avoided him, however now I was desperate, so I got Bro Max to pray for my son. To keep any wind out of his ears, he always wore a toque and earmuffs; however, following this prayer, he seemed to be feeling better and refused to wear his toque, so took him to an ear, nose and throat doctor (ENT).  It was discovered he had brand new pink ear drums.

This was all I needed.  I went back to the promise I made to God when Meredith was healed and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior in my life, heart and soul.  Dustin went on to a life of great healtth and today he is a high ranking RCMP officer in Ottawa.

I went into the ministry for Jesus.  I am blessed to say that the rest is history!

HARRY RUSK AN INSTRUMENT IN GOD’S HANDS                                                             By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.

Pastor Keith Driver first told me about Harry Rusk. He was well known as a musician and singer in Fort Nelson where Keith was pastoring. He suggested I should meet him. I discovered that he had been a patient for quite some time in the Charles Camsell  Hospital.  He had recovered from tuberculosis and was gifted by God with an amazing talent of singing and playing his guitar.

One day we met while fueling our vehicles at a Gasoline Station in Edmonton and I introduced myself to him. Some time later we met at that same location and I said, ”Harry, bring your guitar to church and sing a gospel song” and he accepted my invitation. And that is how our friendship began. Harry and Gladys Rusk have laboured in the Gospel alongside us for many years in Faith Cathedral  and as far away as Norway.

Harry was featured at the Grand Old Oprey and and at a  concert honouring Hank Snow. Harry' life story is called 'Around the Bend in the River. Harry and Gladys are always a great blessing for the glory of God, and have won many to Christ and witnessed some marvellous answers  to prayer in Jesus' Name. Praise the Lord!
