“And the very God of Peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Th. 5: 23, 24). What a powerful statement of God’s provision for the Body of Christ! This is above and beyond anything that we could ever imagine or hope for!

St. Paul’s prayer touches us all. His prayer was powerful and encompassing. He invokes God’s power to save, heal, deliver, and preserve us all until Jesus Christ returns for His Church! The same power that keeps us pure and free from sin, fear and evil, also heals our bodies from sickness and disease!

SANCTIFY MEANS TO BE SET APART!

To sanctify means to be set apart for God and His Kingdom! It means to be consecrated to Christ, and to be given wholly to Him. It involves praying and seeking God. It means that we should not indulge in destructive things such as using drugs, alcohol, or a promiscuous lifestyle.

 It also infers that we can claim the promise of Christ to heal us from sickness, disease, and plagues! The same blood that saves us from sin also heals our sickness and disease!  St. Peter wrote: “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the Tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

St. James says: “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over Him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord: And the Prayer of Faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5: 14-16)

St. Paul states: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might DESTROY him that had the power of DEATH, that is the DEVIL and DELIVER them who through the fear od death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Heb.2:14,15)

JESUS: THE SEED OF THE WOMAN!

This is the fulfillment of God’s judgment on Lucifer who had deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden: “And I will put enmity between thee (Lucifer) and the woman (Eve) and between thy seed and her seed (Messiah). It (He) will bruise (Crush) thy Head, thou shalt bruise His heel.” (Gen. 3:15).

Christ’s death on the Cross for us, crushed Satan’s head. When He arose from the dead, it was as though only His heel was bruised. When Jesus Christ arose from the dead, Satan was eternally defeated, and our eternal salvation was secure!

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another. But when the Comforter is come, Whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of Me.” (John 15: 13, 16,26)

HEALING FOR THE BODY!

“For the Word of God is quick (living) and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4: 12)

“What is the Word of God doing in the joints and marrow of the bones?” The Word of God is alive and powerful. It brings salvation and healing to every part of the human person. We are triune; spirit, soul, and body. God’s Word brings conviction and forgiveness of sin for the spirit. It brings grace and justification and peace to the soul. And the Word of God brings divine healing to the body!

Unfortunately, many of today’s Gospel Ministers have overlooked this great TRUTH. They see the Word God only as ministering to the needs of the spirit, soul (mind), and have neglected the physical body! God is greater than that. Everywhere Jesus preached, He healed the sick and cast out unclean spirits!

“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, If Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean. And JESUS put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I WILL: Be clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”  (Matt.8:2,3): “And when Jesus was come into Peter’s home, He saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And He touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose and ministered unto them.” (Matt. 8:14,15)

“When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His Word and healed all that were sick: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES, AND BARE OUR SICKNESSES.” (Matt.8: 16,17)

I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE!

The doctrine of Divine Healing is found throughout the Bible. God promised His people: “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the Voice to the Lord thy God, and wilt diligently hearken to the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put NONE of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord that Healeth thee.” (Exodus 15:26)        

“Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be Thou, Lord God of Israel, our father for ever and ever. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the Majesty. For all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine . Thine is the Kingdom. O Lord, and Thou art exalted as Head above all.” (1 Chron 29: 10,11)

“If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will Forgive their sin, and Heal their land,” (2 Chron. 7: 14)

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His Benefits: Who forgiveth all thine Iniquities; who healeth all thy Diseases; who redeemeth thy Life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with Good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.” (Ps. 103:1-6). “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.” (Ps. 105: 37)

GREATER WORKS THAN THESE!

Jesus said, “Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and Greater Works than these shall ye do, because I go unto My Father. Jesus always told the truth and said what His Father directed Him to say!

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I Will do it. If ye shall ask anything in My Name, I Will do it. If ye love me, keep My commandments.

“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever. Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.” (John 14: 10-17)

JESUS GIVES US HIS PEACE!

“My Peace I give unto thee. My Peace, I leave with you. Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27, 28). He gives us His Peace. He gives us His Grace. He gives us His Love. He gives us His Mercy. He gives us His Word. He gives us His Joy. He gives His Holy Spirit and His Power!

St. John declared: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (evil spirits): because Greater is He (Holy Spirit) that is in you, than he (Satan) that is in the world…We are of God: He that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth us not. Hereby know we the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for GOD is LOVE. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (covering, satisfaction) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.” (1 John 4: 7-13)

NO HUMAN BEING CAN UNDERSTAND GOD!

We can know God only through His Holy Word and His great Love and mercy, in sending His only begotten Son to rescue us from Satan and His EVIL kingdom. No human being can understand God the Father. We cannot understand God, but we know Him through Jesus Christ and His Word. The Holy Spirit makes His Word become a reality in our spirit man!

LET US PRAY: “And now may the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all until He comes to take us Home! Amen.
