I WAS BIGGAR'S TOWN DRUNK
THEN JESUS RESCUED ME!
Testimony of Buzz Scott
HE WAS A SOLDIER OF THE CROSS!
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
I met Buzz Scott on September 26, 2007 when we dedicated Christ the Healer Gospel Church in Saskatoon to our Saviour Jesus Christ. He said, I'm Buzz and I used to Biggar's 'Town Drunk'.

Immediately, he began helping us and soon was our 'Doorman' who faithfully opened and closed all the doors, checked the sound system and turned out the lights. He was the first to arrive for the services and the last to leave!

Buzz Scott loved the Lord and was filled with the Holy Spirit. He was a faithful servant of the Lord. He will be sorely missed. Unfortunately, there are many takers but few givers! Who will take his place?

In the 1970s I was conducting a Tent Meeting in Saskatoon and
Gary Donahue came to see me. His father was ill and desired prayer for him. Gary was touched by the Holy Spirit and went back to Biggar, Saskatchewan a changed man.

He met his drinking partner Buzz Scott and told him how Jesus had changed his life. Buzz said, "I am not interested in that religious stuff" and kept on in his sinful ways. Gary continued talking to him but to no avail. Then, one night JESUS spoke to Gary: "Go see Buzz. He is ready to accept Me."

At midnight Gary Donahue knocked on Buzz Scott's door, and he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Buzz was saved, delivered from alcohol and became an Ambassador for JESUS everywhere he went! Praise the Lord!

I got to know him well the during the last nine years. He was real. His desire was to reach his family and everyone else with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is now with His Lord. It was an honour to officiate at his funeral!
Forasmuch as it hath pleased Almighty God to take from this world the soul of our departed brother, I commit his body to the ground in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the dead in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, earth to earth, dust to dust and ashes to ashes.  Amen.
