HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
TO ALL MOTHERS!
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
"When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also." (2 Tim.4, 5)
St. Paul wrote those words to Timothy and there is a message here for us as well. I am sure many of us can thank God for our mothers and so we should!
I pray that God will bless all mothers, not just on Mother's Day but every day of the year! There is no other ocupation as important and demanding as that of a mother.
I thank God for all the mothers who have raised their children without a father and told them about our Heavenly  Father and His great love for us all!
Dr. Ben Carson, the brilliant surgeon who made history by separating the conjoined heads of twins, is presently a candidate for the Republican Party's opportunity to retake the US Presidency from the scandal - ridden and lawless Democratic Party.
This intelligent and morally upright gentleman 'who would be president' has written a book on his escape from the ghetto to becoming the most celebrated medical doctor in recent times.
His mother was married at 14 to a bigamist. When she discvered his marital staus, she took her two sons and left. She threw out the television set and forced her sons to read books and although she could not read, they had to read a book every week!
Working at three jobs to support herself and her sons, Mrs. Carson would not allow them to become victims. When  they complained about their problems and what people had done or said to them, she would answer, "Yourself to blame", until they quit compaining. The outcome was a son who is an engineer and another son who is a brilliant surgeon, who is running to become President of the USA.
The greatest president ever to sit in the Oval Office of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln, stated: "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my mother!"
Here is a commandment with a promise: "Honour thy FATHER and thy MOTHER: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee," (Exodus 20: 12).
I have always loved my father and my mother and even though they have long since departed this world to be with their Lord and Saviour, I still remember them fondly and thank my Heavenly Father for their love and godly example. Praise the Lord! Amen.
