THE PARADOX OF
OUR TIMES!
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D. At
the end of a long and successful career, Clarence Darrow, the lawyer
who gained great notoriety during the Scopes ‘Monkey Trial’ in 1925, said, “I feel like the disciples who said: We have toiled all night and
caught nothing!”
The Encyclopædia Britannica
states; “William
Jennings Bryan (q.v.), a firm believer in the literal interpretation of the
Bible, went to Dayton to assist the prosecution. Widespread popular interest
was manifested in the case which…assumed the form of a contest between
fundamentalism and modernism.
“Bryan had been prevented, through the tactics of Darrow, from
delivering the elaborate speech that he had prepared in refutation of Darwin’s
theories.
“Five days
after the conclusion of the trial, Bryan died; his admirers, as a memorial to
Bryan, founded William
Jennings Bryan University, on a hill over looking the town of Dayton.”
Darrow received numerous accolades for his long career, but his life ended on a
sad note. He confessed that his life was empty and that he “had toiled all night and caught nothing”.
It is noteworthy, that in the
Encyclopædia Britannica, Clarence Darrow received one small paragraph to
list his accomplishments, while an entire page is given to William Jennings
Bryan!
TEMPLETON DEAD FROM
ALZHEIMER'S AT AGE 85!
The brilliant mind of Charles B. Templeton is
finally still; at least on this planet! The man who helped found Youth for Christ, built a large
evangelical Church in Toronto, worked in mammoth gospel crusades together with Billy Graham in North America and Europe
after WW11, died recently, after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for four
years!
“It’s hard to remember all the things
Charles did”, said his friend Pierre Burton. “He was a top
evangelist, along with Billy Graham. They were great friends. Billy came up to
see him this year, when he was sick.” When he
was asked what Charles Templeton would be remembered for, Pierre Burton
replied: “A preacher who left the
faith.”
I had the
privilege of debating with Charles Templeton on several occasions and like so
many other preachers, I am sorry to have to write these lines. As intelligent a
man as he was, that he would fall for Darwin’s evolutionary ‘APE-TEACHING’, is doubly sad!
St. Paul,
who is believed to have been one of the most brilliantly intellectual young men
in Palestine, having earned the equivalent of two Ph.Ds by the time he was 21,
stated:
“O Timothy,
keep that which is committed unto thy trust, avoiding vain babblings, and oppositions of science
falsely so called. Which some professing, have erred concerning
the faith.” (1 Tim, 6:20, 21)
In his
autobiography ‘Farewell to God’ (1995), Templeton wrote: “I believe that there is no supreme being with human
attributes – no God in the biblical sense – but that all life is the result of
timeless evolutionary forces…over millions of years. I believe that in common
with all living creatures, we die and cease to exist as an entity.”
Although
Charles Templeton became demented and his brilliant mind lost its ability to
function properly during the last four years of his life, he nevertheless, had
an appointment with God, which he had to keep!
The BIBLE says: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but
after this the judgment.” (Heb. 9:27): “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every
one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done in
his body, whether it be good or evil.” (2 Cor. 5:10)
Although Templeton had lost most of his
faculties through dementia (Alzheimer’s disease) he will be totally coherent as
he stands before God for judgment, as a blithering idiot trying to explain why
he rejected the truth for Satan’s monstrous lies!
Templeton
knew God at one time but chose deliberately to reject the Gospel of Jesus
Christ and Almighty God. History has a strange way of repeating itself! St.
Paul gives us this history lesson, as a warning:
“For the invisible things of Him from the creation
of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are WITHOUT EXCUSE: Because that, when THEY KNEW GOD, they glorified Him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
“Professing themselves to be wise, they
became fools. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness…Who changed the
truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature (the
‘ape-as-father’ evolutionary theory) more than the Creator, Who is blessed forever.”
(Rom 1: 18-25)
The Devil (deceiver,
liar, false accuser, traducer) is the world’s greatest deceiver because he
is the “father of lies” (John 8:44) and unfortunately, Templeton and millions
like him, fell for Satan’s lies and became proud, “their foolish hearts became darkened”. St. Paul
tells of those who had already fallen: “Professing
themselves to be wise, they became fools.” (Rom. 1:18-22).
Templeton
who once preached the gospel and built the church, in later years said: “I oppose the Christian Church because, for all the
good it sometimes does, it presumes to speak in the name of God and to propound
and advocate beliefs that are outdated, demonstrably untrue, and often, in
their various manifestations, deleterious to individuals and society.”
It is ironic, to think that just
a year or two after making that boastful statement, Templeton’s dementia began.
The Bible says: “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is
nothing, he deceiveth himself. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Gal. 6:3,7)
Before
making the break with Billy Graham, Youth for Christ and the
Evangelical Church, in 1948, Templeton warned Graham that it was “intellectual suicide” to not
question the Bible and to go on preaching God’s Word as authoritative!
Billy Graham made a decision to believe
that the Bible is God’s Word and that Jesus Christ is world’s only Saviour. He
has carried the Gospel across the globe for nearly sixty years and is loved by
millions!
Billy
Graham will go down in history as one of the greatest evangelists of all time,
while Charles Templeton’s place in history will be only a footnote! It
will highlight his connection with Billy Graham and that he had a loss of faith
and left the ministry. It will record his work as a writer, editor and manager
in the media, and that he was married three times!
MANY ARE CONFUSED,
DEPRESSED & UNHAPPY!
A lot of
wealthy, prosperous and prominent people feel empty, let down and depressed
after being highly successful and notable achievers! The rich have
discovered that money can’t buy everything in life, the famous soon realize that when their
star begins to fade, they often lose their sponsor, fail to get their contract
renewed and lose their popularity!
And when a person has serious health problems, it affects his employment, his
family, his ability to pay his mortgage, educate his children and his social
standing in the community! Nothing is permanent and like the old proverb –
nothing is certain except death and taxes!
And may I
add, the ‘day of reckoning’; when we will all stand before God to give an
account of our lives! Jesus told a story about two men – one was wealthy,
self–centered and unrighteous in his life-style and the other man was a sick
beggar named Lazarus. They both died
and went to different eternal abodes; the rich unbeliever went to Hell
where he was tormented and the poor beggar was carried by angels to Paradise,
where he was comforted!
FEAR GOD AND WORK HARD!
Dr. David Livingstone was born
in Scotland in 1813. He studied medicine and theology, and in 1840 was sent to
Africa by the London Missionary Society. After 30 years of exploration
and missionary work traversing one - third of the African continent in mostly
uncharted territory - often battling dysentery and fever and burying his
beloved wife Mary with his own hands -he died on his knees beside his bed in
1874!
The ‘Encyclopædia
Britannica’ states: “In the annals
of exploration of the dark continent,” wrote Stanley many years after
the death of the missionary explorer, “we
look in vain among other nationalities for a name such as Livingstone’s. He
stands preeminent above them all; he unites in himself all the best qualities
of other explorers...Britain ...excelled herself even when she produced the
strong and perseverant Scotchman, Livingstone.
“But the
direct gains to geography and science are perhaps not the greatest results of
Livingstone’s journeys. His example and his death acted like an inspiration,
filling Africa with an army of explorers and missionaries, and raising in Europe so
powerful a feeling against the slave
trade that through him it may be considered as having received its death blow.
“Personally, Livingstone was a pure, and tender - hearted man, full of
humanity and sympathy, simple-minded as a child. The motto of his life was the
advice he gave to some school children in Scotland – “Fear God and work hard.”
It is
alleged, that thenatives loved
“the great master” so much that they buried his heart in Africa, saying: “His heart belongs in Africa.”
They wrapped his body carefully
up and together with his papers, instruments and other things, carried it
across Africa to Zanzibar. His body was then transported to England with
all honour, and on April 18, 1874, was laid to rest in Westminster Abbey!
In his
final diary entry, Livingstone commented on the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20:
“Lo, I am with you even unto the end of the world”, thus: “These are the words of a
Gentleman of the highest order. They are true. Doubt is inadmissible, surely.
All will be well.”
He wrote: “I walk to the drumbeat of Heaven; no reservations, no
regrets and no retreat. No sacrifice I can make can begin to compare with the
sacrifice my Lord made for me. I don’t want to possess anything unless it will
further the kingdom of God. There will be all of eternity to enjoy the rewards
of my labour.
“I
never made a sacrifice. Of this we ought not to talk, when we remember the
great sacrifice which He made, who left His Father’s throne on high, to give
Himself for us.”
GO FOR THE LOST AND
GO FOR THE WORST!
General William Booth, another
hero of the faith was a fiery evangelist for the Methodist Church. He was drawn
to poor derelicts of society in London.
Often suffering terrible abuse from rowdies
and persecution from the Anglican state church, he soldiered on preaching the
gospel, salvaging alcoholics from enslavement, feeding the poor, rescuing
hungry children and unwed mothers from their horrible plight and liberating
prostitutes from their pimps!
Booth’s
slogan was, “Go for Souls and Go for
the Worst”! And that
is what they did. He founded the Salvation Army and won tens of
thousands of souls for Christ.
Through
his efforts he helped to liberate thousands of prostitutes from their slave
owners, thereby changing Japanese laws concerning the brothels in that country!
After
years of tireless, hard labour and ‘agape’ love toward the worst in
society, Booth became an international hero and honoured by many world
governments because of it!
In the ‘The General Next To God’, Richard
Collier writes: “The tribute was in keeping. Thirty-five years of persecution
had passed like an evil dream and now statesmen and crowned heads vied with one
another to do Booth and his army honour.
Eighteen hundred and ninety-eight saw him
open the US senate with prayer; 24th. June, 1904, saw him at
Buckingham Palace, with King Edward V11, shaking him cheerily by the hand,
avowing, ‘You are doing a good work, a
great work, General Booth.’
And how,
the king wanted to know, did the Churches now view his work? ‘Sir’, replied
Booth, with the humour that never failed him, ‘they imitate me.’
“When the King, chuckling, begged
Booth to write in his autogragh album, the old man bent forward to sum up his
life’s work.
Your Majesty,
Your Majesty,
Some men’s ambition is art,
Some men’s ambition is fame,
Some men’s ambition gold,
My ambition is the souls of men.
Some men’s ambition is fame,
Some men’s ambition gold,
My ambition is the souls of men.
“But if
Booth walked with kings, he kept his bearing: He never lost the common touch.”
His rallying cry was always” “Go for
Souls and Go for the Worst.” His burden for lost souls was of
mammoth proportions and it permeated his family members as well as the officers
of the Salvation Army for many years.
Cecil
Rhodes – who, as premier of Cape Colony, South Africa presented The Army
with a 3,000 - acre farm north of Fort Salisbury – found Booth’s absorption in
degraded men a puzzle. Booth had to confess it: “To me men, especially the worst, possess the
attraction of gold mines.”
When
Rhodes died in 1902, William Booth to him was still “the only one who believes I have a soul.”
When Lord
Rothschild told Booth: “I’m going to
give you a thousand pounds, General. When will you have it? Booth
answered “Now” with
such authority that Rothschild began immediately fumbling for his cheque book!
When Booth
was scolded by another Christian for accepting a donation from the Marquis
of Queensbury – a professed agnostic– the General was unrepentant: “We will wash
it in the tears of the widows and orphans and lay it on the altar of humanity!”
Booth’s daughter Evangeline, who
laboured tirelessly in the USA for the Salvation Army stated: “Stoop as low as you lawfully can to pick them up
rather than let them become worse while you stand on your dignity.”
About
three months before his death on May 9, 1912, 7000 Salvationists heard the ‘great
warrior of the cross’ deliver one of his most impassioned sermons! Here was
his final war-cry:
“While women weep as they do now, I’ll fight; while
little children go hungry as they do now, I’ll fight; while men go to prison,
in and out, in and out, I’ll fight; while there remains one dark soul without
the light of God, I’ll fight’ I’ll fight to the very end.”
HERE IS THE GREAT PARADOX!
The rich
man who had everything, lost it all in death and all that remained was a
tormented memory, while Lazarus, the beggar, who had nothing, gained everything
in death as he entered into God’s paradise!
Clarence Darrow, the
famous lawyer ended his life saying: “I feel like a failure. My life’s work is
meaningless. I am empty. My successes were not what they were cracked up to be.”
William
Jennings Bryan died as a believer in the Word of God and we know where he is
today. Only God knows the whereabouts of Darrow!
Charles Templeton was deceived by demons of
unbelief and pride! He threw away one the greatest opportunities afforded to
mankind – to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ! He could have helped millions
of struggling souls find peace with God, while enjoying God’s peace and
blessing for himself and his family!
And then,
we think of David Livingstone, William
Booth and Billy Graham, who did
not flinch in the battle with the world, flesh and the devil and who will
forever stand tall as victorious ‘soldiers of the cross of Christ’!
Jesus
warned: “What shall it profit a man
(or woman) if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36, 37)

TOUCHING JESUS
FOR YOUR MIRACLE
An artist's conception of the Biblical account
of a very sick woman receiving a miracle from
God by touching the hem of Jesus'robe
The Answer for Troubled,
Sick & Oppressed
People!
By
Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
The Bible says that the devil goes about like
a roaring lion seeking whom he can destroy but that we can resist him in the
‘Faith of Jesus’. (1 Peter 5:8) Also in James 4:7 the holy Scriptures say,
"Submit yourself unto God, resist the devil and he shall flee from
you."
Jesus Christ declared that the thief (Satan) came for three reasons; to
steal, kill and destroy, but HE had come that “we might have life and it more
abundantly.” (John 10:10)
Our
Lord has given His children power over the Devil; to cast him out and drive him
away from us. Satan brings DEATH but Jesus has destroyed his power over
believers and has given us power over him. And Jesus brings LIFE!
The
Bible says: "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through
God, to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations and every
high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of God." (2 Cor.10: 4,5)
Our weapons are:
1.
The Blood of Jesus!
“Forasmuch then as the children
are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself took part of the same; that
through Death He might Destroy him that had the power of
death, that is, the Devil; And Deliver them who through fear of death
were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Heb. 2: 14, 15)
“Neither by blood of goats and calves, but by His own BLOOD He entered
in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if
the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the
unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh, How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot
to God, PURGE your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God. (Heb. 9:
11-14)
“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and
living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say,
His flesh.” (Heb.10: 19-20).
2.
The Word of God!
“So shall My Word
be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return out of Me void, but it
shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto
I sent it.” (Is. 55: 11). “He hath sent His Word, and healed them, and
delivered them from their destructions.” (Ps. 107: 20)
“Surely He hath
borne our sicknesses (heb. kholee) and
carried our sorrows (heb. makob); yet
we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
“But
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace as upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”
(Is. 53: 4,5)
“For
the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoeged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb.
4:12)
“Then Jesus said unto him, Get thee hence Satan: for it is written, Thou
shalt worship the Lord thy God and only Him shalt thou serve. Then the devil
Leaveth, and behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.” (Matt. 4: 10,11)
3.
The Name of Jesus!
“And
He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall thy
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands
upon the sick and they shall recover.” (Mark 16; 15-18)
“Believe Me that I am in My Father, and the Father in Me; or else
believe Me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also; and greater works than
these shall he do, because I go unto My Father.
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My Name, I will do
it.” (John 14: 10-14)
4.
The Blessed Holy Spirit!
“But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead
dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (give life, heal, strengthen) your
mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. (This of course takes in the resurrection of our bodies when Christ
returns. (Romans 8: 11-17)
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what
we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for
us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (The
Holy Spirit takes a hold of against the infirmity and through the believer
prays to the Father)
“And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the
Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of
God.” (Rom. 8:26, 27)
“So
shall they fear the Name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the
rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the
Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” (Is. 59: 19)
5.
The Church!
“And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets, and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work
of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the fullness of Christ.
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried
about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning
craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all thigs. Which
is the Head, even Christ. From whom the whole body fitly joined together and
compacted by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part maketh increase of the body unto the edifying
of itself in love.” (Eph.4:10-13)
6.
The Angels of God!
“The
angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.
(Psalms 34: 7); “And again, when He bringeth in the first begotten into world,
He saith, Let all the angels of God worship Him. And of the angels He saith,
who maketh His angel spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire. Are not all these ministering spirits, sent
forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Heb. 1: 7,14)
7.
Our Testimony!
“And
they overcame him (Satan) by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, and the Word of their Testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev. 12: 11).
Please
agree with me in prayer according to Matthew 18: 19. Read and study all these
Scriptures and quote them in your prayers. PEACE be unto you, my friend!
By
the Blood of Jesus Christ and according to the Word of God I charge Satan to immediately
LEAVE those who read these words. In
Jesus' name, I bind every evil spirit that is tormenting you and command every
spirit of infirmity to leave you in Jesus Christ's Holy Name. Amen.

JESUS CHRIST IS
NOT NEGOTIABLE
By Pastor Max Solbrekken D.D.
The Gospel
is Good News for Fallen Man! It is the Glad Tidings of the great love, mercy
and grace of God projected toward a sinful and rebellious race! The
Evangelical Dictionary of Theology states: "The Gospel is the joyous
proclamation of God's activity in Christ on behalf of man."
We
are nearing the Easter season and true believers in Jesus Christ and His
glorious Gospel will be heralding the amazing Bible account of the God's great
mercy and grace toward sinful man. The word Gospel means Good News!
The
Gospel is the good news and glad tidings that Light has come into a
world of Darkness; that Peace has come into a world
of Turmoil; that Healing has come into a world of Sickness; that
that Love has come into a world of Hate;
that Forgiveness has come into a world of Sin;
that Life has come into a world of Death; that Freedom has
come into a world of Bondage; that Slaves are made free by
the Liberator of the Human Race!
And that Light, Peace, Healing, Love, Forgiveness, Life,
Liberty, Freedom and Eternal Life is none other than Jesus Christ the Son of
God. That He was crucified for us, arose from the dead and sitting on the Right
hand of God as Saviour, Redeemer, Advocate, High Priest and Intercessor!
Soon the usual liberal "enemies of the
cross" theologians and their lap-dogs, the money hungry Hollywood
Producers and actors, will be spreading lies and falsehoods about Jesus Christ
and His Gospel. I found this powerful statement on Google recently: It
was my position in 1993 and it is my position today, in 2019. The Western
Report Feb. 8, 1993 story of Christian Unity in Alberta carried
this excerpt:
“Edmonton’s Dr. Max Solbrekken is more blunt,‘We
can’t sit at the same table with people who presume to change the word of God -
call God the Father ‘she,’ license homosexual acts, change Christ’s own words
on marriage, or deny that He rose from the dead. That’s blasphemy. The
only truth that unites Christians is the person of Jesus, and he is not
negotiable. I’m all for Christians joining together, but Christ is the living
Word, not an ‘evolving idea,’ and He doesn’t change with the times.”
FROM THE MANGER TO THE CROSS!
What a
journey Jesus Christ had: From the Manger to the Cross - the Cross of
Calvary - the place of pain, shame and agony, where our Saviour shed His precious
blood to set the captives free!
Christ's
vicarious (substitutionary) death and glorious resurrection from the dead
drives us to Repentance and Faith, as we see His hand of mercy
extended to a lost, fearful and sick world.
The
Cross is the expression of God's love for us. It is the very pinnacle of His
mercy and grace to an enslaved people, bound by lust, greed, pride and hate.
The Cross of Christ has been referred to as the axis of salvation, the climax
of the cosmic battle between God and Satan, between good and evil!
JESUS
said: "As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay
down My life for the sheep. Therefore, doth My Father love Me, because I lay
down My life, that I might take it again.
"No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it of Myself. I have power to lay it
down, and I have power to take it again. This command have I received of
My Father," (John 10: 15-18); "Greater love hath no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15: 13)
"For when we were yet without strength (hopeless) in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
"For when we were yet without strength (hopeless) in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
"For if, when we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we
shall be saved by His life." (Rom.5: 8-10)
THE
SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD!
The
Sovereignty of God demanded punishment for sin and the Cross provided the Final
Solution! From the Gates of Eden - after the Fall - until the
death of Jesus of Nazareth on Golgotha, God used the sacrificial system to
forgive the sins of His people. Innocent lambs, goats and bulls were sacrificed
as substitutes for sinning man!
When Jesus
cried, "It is Finished", Almighty God rent the vail in the
Temple and left the Holy of Holies. Standing on Golgotha's Hill, He laid His
hands on the head of His Son, transferring the sins of the entire
world (past, present and future) to His Paschal Lamb.
The
Lamb of God had been sacrificed. He had propitiated for our sins. The Father
was satisfied. The account was settled for time and eternity! The fountain of
blood was opened for sin and uncleanness. His blood was flowing. JESUS had met
the Demands of Divine Justice in the courts of Heaven, in payment for all our
sins!
"And
he (thief) said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy
Kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou
be with Me in Paradise.
"And
the sun was darkened and the VAIL in the temple was rent in the
midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into
Thy hands I commend My spirit: and having thus said, He gave up the
ghost." (Luke 23: 42-46)
THE GREAT EXCHANGE WAS DONE!
The sins of Adam that was imputed to the
entire human race had now been transferred to God's incarnated Son. Our sins
were imputed to Christ and in exchange, His righteousness was imputed to us!
(Rom.3:21-26; 4:6-8; 5:11-21)
The
BIBLE states: "But Christ being come an High Priest of good things to
come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to
say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by
His own Blood He entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us.
"For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer
sprinkling the unclean sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more
shall the blood of Christ Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without
spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living
God?" (Heb. 9: 11-14)
Speaking to the pagan philosophers of Greece about Jesus Christ,
St. Paul stated: "Forasmuch then that we are the offspring of God, we
ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone,
graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at;
but now commandeth all men everywhere to Repent.
"Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world
in righteousness by that Man, Whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath
given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the
dead." (Acts 17: 30, 31)
LIFE THROUGH THE BLOOD!
DR.
DEHANN wrote: “The blood of Jesus is
sinless blood, and since it is incorruptible, for sin brings corruption and where no sin is, there is no corruption.
Every drop of blood which flowed in Jesus’ body is still in existence, and is
just as fresh as it was when it flowed from His broken skin in Gethsemane, the
blood that was smeared about His back when the cruel weighted tongs cut through
His flesh as the flagellator scourged Him, the blood that oozed out under the
thorny crown and flowed from His hands, His head, His feet was never destroyed for
it was incorruptible blood.
“David, in speaking of Him in the 16th Psalm,
while Peter quotes in Acts 2, says, “Thou wilt not leave His soul in Hell,
nether wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.
Although the body of the Lord Jesus lay in the tomb in death for three days and
nights with no corruption in it for that body contained incorruptible blood.”
DR. ANDREW MURRAY
wrote: "Reconciliation and deliverance from guilt become the blessed
entrance for us into a life in which the Blood, as it was transported into
Heaven and abides there will be truly the power of divine abiding life in
us." - The Blood of the Cross
MARTIN
LUTHER stated: "First, the blood of Christ remains the same blood of
Christ. For we believe and hold that the blood of Christ that is now at the
Right Hand of God, was shed for us only ONCE." - Church & Ministry, Luther's Works, vol. 40, p. 215
ST. PAUL states: "But this Man, because He continueth ever,
hath an unchanging priesthood. Wherefore He is able to save them to the
uttermost that come unto God through Him, seeing He ever liveth to make
intercession for them.
"For such an High Priest became us, Who is holy, harmless,
undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens: Who needeth
not daily, as those high priests to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins,
and then for the people's; for this He did ONCE, when He offered up
Himself.
"For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity, but the word of
the OATH, which was since the law, maketh the SON, who is consecrated
forevermore." (Heb.7:24-28)
MY CONFESSION OF FAITH!
Clearly stated, there is but ONE God and Father and ONE Lord Jesus Christ
Who is both Creator and Sustainer of the world and Sole Saviour and Redeemer of
the entire Human Race, and ONE Blessed Holy Spirit of God, who draws all men to
Christ!
All other
so-called gods and goddesses and deities are mere Counterfeits, Imitators and
Pretenders. It is Christ and Christ Alone who saves, heals, delivers and
liberates from sin, fear, sickness, disease and all the powers of Darkness and
Satan!
"But to us (Christians) there is but ONE God, the Father, of Whom are
all things, and we in Him, and ONE Lord Jesus Christ by Whom are all things,
and we by Him." (1 Cor.8: 6). Amen
After
discussing the outstanding miracle healings that had occurred under my ministry
in Norway, the editor of a major Norwegian newspaper
asked, “Who is Max Solbrekken?” I
replied, “The boy delivering telegrams does his job and gets back on his
bicycle, often without being thanked. The boy is not important, but the
telegram is. Max Solbrekken isn't important, but the message is very
important. I am just a messenger boy for Jesus!”
Next day's Newspaper had a large picture of this preacher, and the article
covered a full page. The headline screamed, “Max Solbrekken: A Messenger Boy
for Jesus!” That was the most beautiful thing I could ever have written
about me. I was so excited and thrilled to be publicly linked to Jesus in that
manner. What a privilege!
For
more than 50 years, I have carried the Gospel of Jesus Christ to multitudes
across the world, the Lord working with us and confirming the Word with miracles,
sign and wonders! From 1989 to 1995, God
gave us many open doors across the former Soviet Union with great success. I
will never forget touring Chernigov
not long after the catastrophic nuclear explosion there. We preached in the new
town of Slavutich, forty miles away.
In 2004 and 2005, together with Dr. Manoel Ferreira of the Assemblies of
God, Donna and I preached in four Ministers Conventions with a total of 10,000
preachers.
PREACHING
TO MUSLIMS IN DARFUR!
And in Parque Brasil in Paulinia,
S.P. Brazil I was invited to preach to more than 300,000 people on April 13,
2005. Our latest Gospel Unity Crusade was in Kampala, Uganda in 2011.
One of my
greatest joys was preaching to Muslims in Sudan including Darfur in 2006 and 2007. Norwegian Missionary Jan Ernst Gabrielsen
and I had some glorious revivals there. Our time together with Dr. Boutros
Boktor at the Assembly of God in Cairo Egypt in 2007 was special.
He said: “Dr. Max, there is a saying that once you drink of the waters
of the Nile, you will come back again and again. We want you to come back again
and again.” Sadly, before I could make it back to Cairo, the Lord called him Home.
Fortunately, I produced a video with Dr. Boktor of his experience as an
Egyptian soldier on the desert during the Six Day War with Israel. In great detail,
he related his one-on-one meeting with JESUS and his miraculous escape from the
bombardment by Israeli jets that killed hundreds and captured of several thousand
of his fellow soldiers.
To God be all the honour, praise and glory, through Jesus Christ the
Lord! I praise Him for His grace and pure love with which He has showered Donna
and me and our beautiful family throughout all these years. Amen.

QUEBECERS BELIEVE TRUDEAU
CROSSED THE LINE
OTTAWA — After weeks of sympathizing with his plight to save SNC-Lavalin from the potential penalties of criminal prosecution, Quebec’s pundit classes have now concluded that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau crossed the line in his dealings with former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould.
In the hours after Wilson-Raybould’s scathing testimony at a Commons justice committee Wednesday evening, commentary emanating from the home province of the embattled engineering firm, which is being prosecuted for corruption, took on a harsher tone. Chantal Hébert, a Montreal-based columnist for the Toronto Star and L’actualité, put it this way on a Radio-Canada morning radio show Thursday: After a review of the newspapers, she said in French, “nobody is a friend of Trudeau this morning.”
Quebecers could think that Wilson-Raybould had made an error in judgment by deciding not to pursue a deferred prosecution agreement for SNC-Lavalin, in light of thousands of jobs that could be put at risk if a conviction resulted in a ban on bidding for public contracts. But they could at the same time agree that it was deeply inappropriate for the prime minister to spend four months trying to twist her arm after a decision had been made, Hébert argued.
The committee testimony was front page news for the likes of Le Devoir and the Journal de Montreal. But at midday you had to scroll down to find stories about Wilson-Raybould on the websites of most Quebec-based media outlets.
WILL HE RESIGN
BEFORE ELECTION?
Wilson-Raybould’s testimony was a political earthquake for the Liberal Party, which entered 2019 expecting to sail to a relatively easy second term at an election scheduled for this October. Overnight, the party’s chances at re-election have dimmed considerably, and Conservative Party leader Andrew Scheer this week took the extraordinary step of calling for Trudeau’s resignation.
“Justin Trudeau simply cannot continue to govern this great nation now that Canadians know what he has done,” the Tory leader said following Wilson-Raybould’s testimony.Trudeau and his allies in the government have denied that Wilson-Raybould’s testimony is accurate, but they will soon have a testimony of their own to directly refute her. Following her appearance before the House of Commons Justice Committee, the Prime Minister’s former principal secretary Gerald Butts asked the committee’s chair — via Twitter — if he, too, could testify about the SNC-Lavalin affair. Such a request is unusual but reflects the unprecedented nature of the current scandal engulfing Canadian politics.
